Under the Radar
Tara Madgwick - Sunday, 2 June 2013
The first season sires battle might be raging between Northern Meteor and Sebring, but it's not all about the big guns.

A winning double at http://www.racenet.com.au/trc/" rel="nofollow - Launceston on Sunday has highlighted the success of unheralded Tasmanian based sire Wordsmith, whose first crop of two year-olds are delivering the sort of statistics many commercial sires would kill for.

A Group III winning son of Testa Rossa (pictured), Wordsmith hit the mark with a pair of fillies on Sunday with success for Geegees Velvet and Geegees Hot Hussie, both youngsters bred and raced by Paul and Elizabeth Geard and trained by John Luttrell.

Geegees Velvet broke through for her first win after posting five consecutive seconds at her only previous starts which included a couple of Listed events, while Geegees Hot Hussie was winning her second race from just four starts.

Geegees Velvet and Geegees Hot Hussie are among five winners and two place-getters from 12 runners by Wordsmith and come from his first crop which numbers just 16 live foals.

Dairy farmers turned horse breeders, Paul and Elizabeth Geard have enjoyed much success with their thoroughbreds which all carry the Geegees prefix and include top class Tasmanian stayer Geegees Black Flash, a winner of the Group III Tasmanian Derby, Launceston Cup and Hobart Cup.

They stand Wordsmith at their Geegee Stud at a modest fee of $2,750 and his early success from very limited numbers will no doubt encourage more Tasmanian breeders to give the young stallion further opportunity.

Wordsmith makes his mark

06 / 06 / 2013 http://tasracing.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Wordsmith.jpg" rel="nofollow"> Wordsmith winning the Debonair at three. icon Click to enlarge

THE success of star galloper Geegees Blackflash has been the catalyst on which Paul and Elizabeth Geard have been able to build a thoroughbred breeding empire at their Broadmarsh property North-West of Hobart.

Geegees Blackflash first made his mark as a potential star when he won the 2010 Tasmanian Derby and after an injury-ridden four-year-old season he bounced back to win the 2012 Hobart Cup and this year he won the Launceston Cup to confirm his status as one of the best Tasmanian gallopers of all time.

The Clangalang gelding has won 15 and been placed 16 times from 45 starts and has accrued $814,000 in prizemoney, all of which has been won without having to leave the state.

But the Geards may have a new star in their midst in the form of well-bred stallion Wordsmith.

The Testa Rossa stallion had his first crop hit the race track this season and while he only served mares owned by the Geards he has made his way into Australia’s top 10 first- season sires list

Wordsmith has produced five individual winners for seven wins overall and they have accumulated prizemoney of $183,000 with Gee Gees Style providing about $63,000 of the booty.

Gee Gees Style was placed in multiple feature races before scoring a narrow his victory over star two-year-old Grand Tycoon in the $30,000 Autumn Classic.

Paul Geard said he bought Wordsmith with the intent of having a resident stallion oat his farm to service only his own mares but his progeny have performed so well the inquiry has been so great Wordsmith could serve up to 50 outside mares this coming season.

“I have been amazed by the amount of inquiry from local breeders and trainers seeking Wordsmith for their mares this coming season,” Geard said.

“The general opinion seems to be that he produces horses that can run early and the ones we have got to the races this season have all shown good ability,” he said.

Wordsmith (Testa Rossa-Way With Words x Yeats) won the $200,000 Group 2 Debonair over 1200 metres and he was placed third in the Group 3 Sandown Guineas in 2007.

He was forced to retire through injury so he was put through the rung at the Inglis Great Southern Bloodstock Sale but he was passed in.

“I originally had my eyes on Written Tycoon at the sale but Simon Vivien from Inglis said that unless I had $500,000 I should try and look elsewhere,” Geard said.

“He suggested I look at Wordsmith and I liked Testa Rossa as a racehorse and stallion so when he was passed in at $24,000 I put in an offer of $26,000 after the sale and it was accepted,” he said.

Wordsmith’s individual winners this season are Gee Gees Style (x 2) Geegees Hot Hussie (x 2), Geegees Velvet, Geegees Hawkeye and Geegees Red Rock.

Brighton trainer John Luttrell prepares all of Wordsmith’s juvenile winners except Geegees Red Rock that is trained at Spreyton by Leon Wells.

Luttrell believes the best Wordsmith two-year-old is Geegees Joker that is expected to make his debut in Hobart next month.

Indeed! I wish you as much luck as what Mandy has had with Mo! Mandy has three foals due this year to my Bloke and she is sending one or two over this season, so she has been a great supporter of Widden Valley!

Wordsmith goes to 50% winners to runners i believe with another winner today at Devonport. should cement his spot in the top ten and would more than likely have the highest strike rate of the top ten.

Malandrina booked last night to the boy. he has finished 4th by winners and the impressive part i think given Tassie prizemoney - 10th accross Oz for prizemoney. all of these mares were just from their general herd. no specific matchings etc. well worth the punt at $2750 i reckon.

Gee, she's a beautiful strong filly isn't she! Plenty of width about her and a great hind end. You're going to have a lot of fun with her. I know you won't but I have to say it anyway, if you ever think about selling or leasing, or sending her north, let us know. ;)

thanks for the kind words Campaspe, i really like the way she has developed too. also like her nature. easy to do anything with. not many Savs left so i am wrapped to have her... i see Wordsmith got another winner in the first at Devonport today.this one hadnt won prior to today so another is added to the total. our boy was in the same race. blew after pulling up so another run and should be right to go.

Wordsmith takes out juvenile stallion title

01 / 09 / 2014 http://tasracing.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Wordsmith-stallion-800x548.jpg" rel="nofollow"> Wordsmith with G G Stud studmaster Stuart Gandy icon Click to enlarge

ONE of the state’s most promising stallions Wordsmith was announced as Tasmania’s leading sire of juveniles (2 & 3 year old) for last season.

Wordsmith, by Testa Rossa from the Yeates mare Way with Words, produced 17 winners during the 2013-14 season comprising seven two-year-old and 10 three-year-old wins.

Talented two-year-old Geegees Doublejay accounted for three of his sire’s winners and three-year-old filly Geegees velvet won twice as well as being placed in feature races.

Wordsmith stands at Paul and Elizabeth Geards Gee Gee Horse Stud at Broadmarsh where he will be standing his sixth season at stud in 2014.

His progeny won over distances ranging from 900 metres to 1400 metres.

It is amazing how many good stallions that have inbreeding to a superior female galloper or broodmare.  Thong of course had a even greater daughter in Special but was a pretty good broodmare herself with the outstanding King Pellinore (G1 winning son of Round Table) and the Champion European galloper Thatch from the Hyperion sireline.

It probably isn't an accident that the Nureyev (son of Special/Thong) mare Lady Giselle when mated with Sir Tristram (from the Hyperion female line and out of a Round Table mare) produced a great in Zabeel.  I noticed Gee Gees Top Notch has added Thatch to the mix.  Would be interesting what a daughter of Zabeel might produce.

Wordsmith’s results tell their own story

Tasmania lacks the quantity and the quality of both racehorses and breeding stock residing in the mainland states of Australia, but the state has a rich history even so. One doesn’t usually have to wait too long for another top-liner to emerge from the island, with its recent champions including 1972 Melbourne Cup winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=539869" rel="nofollow - Piping Lane  and 1990 Caulfield Cup winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=683216" rel="nofollow - Sydeston (both of whom were, admittedly, trained on the mainland - at Epsom in Victoria by George Hanlon and Bob Hoysted respectively - by the time that they enjoyed his finest hours). One of the stars of the past spring in Melbourne was the hugely popular Tasmanian hero  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2425324" rel="nofollow - The Cleaner . Another current high-class Tasmanian galloper is 2010 Tasmanian Derby winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2403990" rel="nofollow - Geegees Blackflash , who has compiled a magnificent record on the island, highlighted by his excellent achievement of finishing in the frame in the Launceston Cup in five consecutive seasons, including winning the race in both 2013 and 2015. Current Tasmanian Derby winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2441220" rel="nofollow - Geegees Classicboy , another protégé of Gee Gees Horse Stud near Broadmarsh, now ranks as a potential Group winner, which is great news for his owner/breeders Paul and Elizabeth Geard who stand his sire  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2382686" rel="nofollow - Wordsmith , writes John Berry.

It is hard for Tasmanian studs to hold on to good stallions, bearing in mind that the financial clout held by successful studs on the mainland generally proves irresistible. The most distinguished stallion to have stood in Tasmania in recent years,  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2341946" rel="nofollow - Silent Witness ’ sire  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=1171171" rel="nofollow - El Moxie , was relocated to Victoria once he had started to do well. On the other hand, The Cleaner’s sire, the impeccably-bred British maiden-race winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=615923" rel="nofollow - Savoire Vivre , did consistently well at Armidale Stud without quite attracting enough attention for a stud in either Victoria or New South Wales to make his connections an offer which they could not refuse. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Wordsmith, who is still aged only 11 and who has made an excellent start to his stud career.

In general, stallions blessed with both a top-class racing record and a smart pedigree do not begin their stud careers in Tasmania. In fact, top-class horses rarely retire to stud there, irrespective of their lineage. Some of the island’s recruits tend to be well-bred under-performers like Savoir Vivre, while some fall into Wordsmith’s category: good tough racehorses who did not quite make it to the top, and who have adequate but unspectacular pedigrees.

While no one would claim that Wordsmith was a champion on the racecourse, at the same time nobody could dispute that he was a good horse. Trained out of town at Yarra Glen by Shane Nichols, he proved himself an excellent two-year-old in the 2005/’06 season, breaking his maiden over 1000m at Werribee before recording two metropolitan victories later in the season, including scoring over 1000m at Flemington. He was not, however, merely a one-dimensional sprinter, and his final success of the season, over 1300m, gave his connections the confidence to set him for the Caulfield Guineas in the spring.

Unsurprisingly, Wordsmith couldn’t quite measure up the very best of his generation, but he was not far behind them. He ran a terrific race in the Caulfield Guineas, finishing fifth of the 13 runners, beaten just over three lengths by the Bart Cummings-trained winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2377035" rel="nofollow - Wonderful World , who won well with  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2377926" rel="nofollow - Excites , the favourite  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2380840" rel="nofollow - Court Command  and  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2376589" rel="nofollow - Churchill Downs  fighting out a three-way photo-finish for the minors. He kept going right up to the end of Melbourne’s Spring Carnival, signing off with a good third to  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2382520" rel="nofollow - Sender  in the Sandown Guineas, before resuming with a terrific Group Three victory first-up in the autumn (ie late summer) under his regular jockey Steven KIng in The Debonair over 1200m at Moonee Valley, the race having been temporarily relocated from Flemington.

Sadly, that proved to be Wordsmith’s final victory, although he continued to run well. In the Group One Cadbury Guineas at Caulfield (another race temporarily relocated with Flemington being closed for refurbishment) five weeks later he could only finish eighth of the nine runners, but he appeared to run to a similar level of form as in the Caulfield Guineas, with Churchill Downs finishing a similar distance in front of him in sixth. That term’s Caulfield Guineas had not been a vintage one, but its Flemington autumnal equivalent was a classic, with the champion filly http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2376861" rel="nofollow - Miss Finland  edging out  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2377586" rel="nofollow - Casino Prince  and the top-class NZer  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2375619" rel="nofollow - Jokers Wild  in a thrilling finish, with subsequent superstars  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2380706" rel="nofollow - Haradasun  and  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2382266" rel="nofollow - Efficient  following the principals home.

Wordsmith remained in training as a four-year-old in the 2007/’08 season, but sadly he failed to build on his earlier achievements, and ultimately retired with a record of four wins and two minor placings from 17 starts, with earnings in excess of quarter of a million dollars.

Had Wordsmith been blessed with a stellar pedigree, his form would have been good enough to see him established at stud on the mainland. As it was, though, he had proved himself to be the best horse in his immediate family, so he had no celebrated relatives to plead his cause with studmasters for him – hence his eventually settling in Tasmania. What he does have, though, is a pedigree which entitles him to be exactly what he was: an above-average multiple winner. Such horses abound in his family. His first four dams have all produced large numbers of winners, with his second dam  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=482581" rel="nofollow - Nahema  (a stakes-placed winner in Adelaide) having bred eight winners from eight runners, including the city winners Beats A Duck and  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2367714" rel="nofollow - Vavoom  (who, like her mother, has proved a very good broodmare). His dam, the seven-time winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2382685" rel="nofollow - Way With Words , was also a good producer. Although Wordsmith is her best son, he is not her winning-most son, his Archway half-brother Anyways having won 13 times including metropolitan races in Melbourne and Adelaide.

Way With Words, incidentally, is a daughter of the first Ballydoyle-trained grandson of Northern Dancer to bear the name  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2330217" rel="nofollow - Yeats , with this one (trained by Vincent rather than Aidan) being best known for siring the 1988 Cox Plate winner  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=515121" rel="nofollow - Our Poetic Prince  rather than for winning four Ascot Gold Cups.

Similarly, Wordsmith’s sire  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=697497" rel="nofollow - Testa Rossa  is an asset to anyone wanting to breed fast, tough winners, but has never been anything like an automatic ticket to a stud career. A son of Sadler’s Wells’ three-parts brother  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=1820901" rel="nofollow - Perugino , Testa Rossa was a terrific racehorse, best remembered for his succession of duels with his peer and arch-rival  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=575341" rel="nofollow - Redoute's Choice , whom he chased home in a magnificent edition of the Caulfield Guineas in 1999 with  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=154519" rel="nofollow - Commands  and  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=539436" rel="nofollow - Pins  just behind them. He has subsequently sired stacks of winners and has over 50 individual stakes winners to his credit, the best of whom has probably been the terrific internationally successful sprinting mare  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2394868" rel="nofollow - Ortensia .

When Wordsmith initially retired to Gees Gees Horse Stud, he was basically only covering the Geards’ own mares. However, once his small first crop (which numbered 16) started to run in Tasmania in the 2012/’13 season, it became apparent to a wider audience that he really did have plenty to offer as a stallion.

The NSW-based celebrities  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2395699" rel="nofollow - Northern Meteor  and  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2390597" rel="nofollow - Sebring  were Australia’s dominant first-season sires in the 2012/’13 season, but in his own understated way Wordsmith was quietly putting together figures equally impressive, albeit at a much lower level which reflected the fact that his mares were of a very different calibre to the blue-bloods which the principals had been covering. A late-season double at Launceston courtesy of  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2426006" rel="nofollow - Geegees Velvet  and Geegees Hot Hussie meant that he had come up with five individual winners from only 12 runners. Furthermore, his progeny collectively had a creditable amount of stakes form to their names, with Geegees Velvet and  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2426009" rel="nofollow - Gee Gees Style  having filled the minor placings in both the Elwick Stakes in Hobart and the Gold Sovereign Stakes at Launceston.

With his eldest offspring now aged four, Wordsmith has continued to build on his promising start. His small second crop included last season’s stakes-placed juveniles  http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2433771" rel="nofollow - Geegees Goldengirl  (who has subsequently been placed in both the Tasmanian Guineas and the Hobart Guineas) and http://www.thoroughbredinternet.com/pedigree.html?id=2433774" rel="nofollow - Geegees Doublejay , while the recent victory of the same crop’s Geegees Classicboy in the Tasmanian Derby over 2200m adds an extra dimension the CV of the stallion. Furthermore, three days after that Tasmanian Derby victory, Wordsmith enjoyed an even better day on the Hobart Cup card, recording a splendid treble courtesy of the four-year-old Geegees Soprano in a 1200m handicap, the two-year-old Gee Gees Top Notch in the Elwick Stakes (a Listed race over 1100m in which Wordsmith also sired the third, Gee Gees Vicki) and the aforementioned three-year-old Geegees Goldengirl in the Strutt Stakes, a Listed race over 2100m. With Geegees Blackflash landing the feature race on the programme, that really was a true red-letter day for the Geards.

Wordsmith’s success has meant that he has now made available to outside mares, at a fee of $2,500. It will be very interesting to see how he can fare if and when he has a larger representation of sons and daughters on the racecourse; but if the early evidence is anything to go by, he will continue to do very well.

just went onto breednet out of interest to see how his progeny overall have gone. the winners to runners would be around 50% i imagine but if you look at the return on prizemoney in Tassie for the number of starts most of the below are impressive numbers.....

Wordsmith
Wordsmith
Geegees Goldengirl is one of three stakes-winners for Wordsmith joining Tasmanian Derby winner Geegees Classicboy and juvenile stakes-winner Geegees Top Notch.

A Group III winning son of Testa Rossa, Wordsmith actually had three winners on the Sunday Launceston program with wins for Geegees Velvet and Geegees Soprano in the races leading up to the Oaks.

In total he has sired 19 winners from 37 starters – three of them stakes-winners and a further four being stakes-placed – with his oldest progeny just four year olds.

Wordsmith initially covered small books of mares for Geegee Stud, but for the last two seasons at a fee of $2,750 has covered 56 and 54 mares so expect to see more of them winning races in Tasmania in the years to come.

yes all racing in Tassie but he is putting together a good record with his progeny

Cheers Goldey, glad i got a response as i feel he is exciting for Tassie breeding. with the performances his progeny are putting in whereby the mares all came from the one stud it is pretty promising. he got some good mares from outside in his last two seasons so his record can only improve. with the performances of Hallowed Crown(Street Sense) we can only hope his brother Needs Further(EDL)throws some good ones too and Tassie Breeding will looking positive....

Would be interesting to see the response from breeders if he was sent up to Victoria on loan for a season. I'm not a breeder, but as a trainer I'd love a VOBIS Gold qualified youngster by Wordsmith. It'd be the sort of horse I'd try to target at a yearling sale.

yes there has been Whitto. only the owners would know if he is heading that way but i am not taking any chances. the comment to me was that he will be a lot more expensive if he gets to the mainland. at 5 months old my colt is turning into a brick outhouse. i am happy to try to replicate him. Campaspe it probably should be noted that the Gee Gee Stud has bred to mares that are a real mix.some with good records/some not -  the success of the stallion down here is pretty amazing considering.

perhaps the other thing that is important is how easy they are to work with. probably helping his progenies cause.

Really to me ,he has great shoulder angle, not sure whether he passes that to his progeny but not a bad start to athleticism imo . In any terms 4 winners in a day isn't a bad effort , I have a filly from a Testa Rossa stallion and she has a great temperament maybe Testa Rossa brings that in .

Posted By: slowdown
Date Posted: 26 Apr 2015 at 8:33pm
would be great to see him in the flesh Goldey. perhaps that is where the temperament comes from. with not that much work my little fella will stand in the paddock while all his feet are cleaned out. towel/plastic bag all over him and takes his anitone by siringe without halter etc. i am very happy with where we are at with him at an early age.

Stryker is going great as the post suggests. he is at 12 starters for 5 winners but $65000 less prizemoney than Wordsmith. just stating this to show just how well he is also going.Only $3000 service fee too

just got off the phone to the Gee Gee Horse Stud. he is looking at covering around 100 mares this season. this is extraordinary as i am pretty sure there has only been around 400 broodmares operating in Tassie in the last few years. i am sure someone on here knows where to find that info.  half a dozen coming over from the mainland too. great news for the Tasmanian industry.

Gran Lodge dispells Derby doubts

15 / 10 / 2015 https://tasracing.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Geegees-Gran-Lodge-Sigy-Carr-wins-the-maiden-class-one-over-1620m-in-Launceston-last-night-800x541.jpg" rel="nofollow"> Geegees Gran Lodge (Sigy Carr) wins the maiden-class one over 1620m in Launceston last night icon Click to enlarge

IF there were any doubts about Geegees Grand Lodge being a serious Tasmanian Derby contender before he tackled a maiden-class one in Launceston last night they were well and truly dispelled when he powered his way to a very impressive win in a maiden-class one over 1620 metres.

Geegees Gran Lodge went into the race on the back of a  maiden win over 1400 metres in Hobart two weeks ago and despite the ease with which he demolished his rivals that day, punters still sent him around at the lucrative price of $3.50.

With South Australian-based apprentice Siggy Carr in the saddle, Geegees Gran Lodge was used up early from a wide gate to land fourth in the one-out line with cover which was a great piece of horsemanship from the Tasmanian-born rider.

When Carr called on the three-year-old colt to extend, he quickly collared the leader and went on to score by over two lengths from outsider Aussie Alice with All Wrapped up a close-up third.

“I was excited about this horse before he won his maiden in Hobart and even more excited after that race but tonight he was awesome and we can now genuinely look at aiming him towards the Tasmanian Derby (in February),” Wells said.

funny you should ask Campaspe, he is very athletic and a great nature. two stone less today along with Spirits little brother. Rebel has knocked his off hind fetlock and its been swollen for 8 weeks. we have treated him with bute etc but to no avail. the xrays show a growth fault at this stage where there is some seperation in the fetlock. we have decided to just give it time and  hopefully it all comes right. Dylaca trials again on Tuesday the we look for a race for her. she is bigger and stronger and ran slick time on the sand the other day breaking 23 for the final two furlongs so we are hopeful....

Why don't any of the 'GeeGee' horses race ever compete on the mainland?

It's bizarre reading through the racing history of a couple of the very good ones and that they just race for very little money in races that aren't their pet distance with a ton of weight.

ithe majority of the the Wordsmiths belong to The Geards but this will change with the last 2 seasons where he covered 50 + mares and this season he is covering around 100 mares.  i have been following his A.E.I lately and it is increasing at around $1000 a week at the moment and stands at over $41 grand just easing into to our better racing season. given the poor prizemoney in Tasmania throughout the general racing season i would say this is a good result.

Sounds like exciting times, Slowdown. Are you just going to have the one to start with, or will you get one or two older tried horses to learn with?

All the best with him slowdown.

GG's Double D is heading to melbourne
If I heard correctly, Peter staples made that comment
During the telecast today.

Does look smart, will be interesting.

Also bumping the thread up as a new 1 was created...

thanks Ecair, can only hope i got one of the good ones. he is an outstanding sire as mentioned in the other thread. 4 race wins today including a trifecta, quinella and two wins. should get the 30 day positive for Malandrina today. he offers the state a lot with his winners and bloodlines hopefully too. not sure that we will see the winner over yet. Leon said she is too young yet but maybe one day.

They must be weird people, not only with everything being named 'gee gee' but never, ever, ever sending any of their horses over to Melbourne, they've had a couple of fairly decent ones that were clearly better then tas racing, foals out of La Quita have been pretty good.

Reckon its their money and their horses so they can do as they please .
They won over  a million with Gee Gee Blackflash  ( ? Think thats it, SD ? ) and it never left Tassie.
Good on them, i reckon.

Correct Acacia, over the mill down here. first time achieved. Gee Gee is more of a representation of a previous property from memory. same as we preface ours with Sh'Bourne.  its named after our farm - Shannonbourne. we just have a tad less runners.LOL
