Loving that the bands I grew up with are still making records.

Still got the Oasis album Dig Out Your Soul in the car.
The new Eskimo Joe album, the new Greenday album ... both good listens.
Also a fan of Lily Allen's new stuff ... and watched The Club at the weekend, so Up There Cazaly is back in my head.

Sitting here watching Foxtel music channel 805 which has the 1000 greatest song countdown on for the long weekeed. Loving hearing some of the good stuff that I had forgotten about. At the moment they have Metallica on doing "Nothing else maters", with the orchestra too. Excellent stuff. Might have to get the old CD's out soon and have a listen.

In the car at the moment I am listening to:-
The Eagles
Timberland
U2- Joshua Tree
Seal

Amazingly sexy woman, total babe, in the carpark after netball for sure Cool let a man dream..

Been out most of the night, pre-exam relaxment (lol), listening/moving to Subfocus, Tiesto, Kate Ryan, Antoine, Vath, Daft Punk, Shapeshifters etc.
Eminems latest album Relapse is his best work ever imo. I'm hardly a huge fan of him, but am appreciating it for sure right now, can't wait or Relapse #2 later in the year.

Showing my age here but going through a bluegrass country revival stage, listening to the great Jimmie Rodgers, singing train songs and yodeling, throw in some Doc Watson, John Prine, Chet Atkins, Ricky Skaggs, and  the question must be asked...does it get any better than this?Smile

Relamp, Jimmie Rodgers was born in 1897, 112 years ago, and he is just as popular today as he was in his prime, do you think we will be listening to artists of today in 112 years time?
Do yourself a favour and have a listen, doubt that its your cup of tea, but it never hurts to explore new sounds. (hope the links work)

I agree that "Grace" was a fantastic album, but you can't say that he was going to be one of the greats because noone will ever know.
For all we know he could of developed a coke addiction and written two horrible follow up albums..
I guess thats the magic that surrounds the unknown
Last Goodbye is my fav. Buckley song
Oasis, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian are on high rotation currently..

Depends if im starting forward or in the ruck. If im rucking i get the music on cos i need to be as amped as possible when there's a 120kg sheep shearer who'd knock over his own grandma to get at the footy running into me LOL

They'll never have a better album then Lateralus. I like A Perfect Circle as well, yet never got into Pussifier.

I know it was fantastic. We were one row of the fence for Muse and honestly felt the fire when those big rectangle things got lit up. We went back a bit for Tool as it was pretty full on and they started to do wall of deaths and i wasn't gonna get involved with that LOL

mate, me and my brother where right there too. could not believe the heat that you could feel of that hand thing. dont know how they did it but when muse played they had blue fire come off it and when tool played it was orange and produced a ton of black smoke. totally set the scene.

that night is in the never to be forgotten file.

I was at the Melbourne Big Day Out for Muse and Tool...was excellent...was that the same BDO that the Violent Femmes played at?

Watched 21 on DVD yesterday...would be a pretty good soundtrack to get.

Good one Smile, Seven Spanish Angels by Willie Nelson (solo) is very hard to find Slim. Especially like the harmonies on the Doc Watson/ Skaggs /Krauss song too. Clap
There's some good music to go through in these lists.

I went and saw the Galvatrons at Pier Live earlier this year and it was just an absolutely ridiculous night. Its hard to take them seriously but thats the best part, its fun music...mind you alcohol enhanced the night just a little.

Hey Blakey old buddy, do me a favour, never start another thread like this please.

I am so Corrinad out i cant tell ya.

An interesting but useless stat... Corrina Corrina was written in 1928 by Bo Chatmon from a band called The Mississippi Sheiks with some collaboration from Mitchell Parish & J. Mayo Williams.

i've found Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Peterson, Bob Dylan, Brooks and Dunn, The Texas playboys, Leo Kottke, Steppenwolf, The Sheiks, but without doubt my favourite version is from Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder, and that was in my collection before i started checking all the others out Angry

That Paolo Nutini will one day be looked upon as a living legend, whether it's for his songs ( which i like by the way) or for the amount of women he beds, i'm not sure Wink

He was born in Scotland, are you sure it aint Paolo McNutini Smile

Yea definitely will be a legend... If he stays true to himself and does not commercialise his songs too much he will have a very long career. True talent.
