Has been given a good freshen, so the distance doesn't surprise.  Just don't know if the race leads anywhere.

I am sorry but there is just no chance this talented colt is suited to 1000m against this lot.

BM67 they could have found a suitable 1400m contest.

You presumably didn't read the post about his freshen up.  He's big and couldn't get 1400 down a mineshaft.

He'll get 1400m easily. He will make his name at a mile.

The freshen up is irrelevant.

We'll see what happens on Tuesday.

1400m would be perfect for him first day out of 3 months in a paddock.

A pity he hasn't been out in a paddock for three months then.

A bit jaded last start, so into the paddock for a fortnight.  After which another fortnight striding, and serious work for, yes you got it, another fortnight.  Not fit enough for 1400m first up, simple as.

Suspect the race is a pipe-opener for his main late Spring goal, maybe one on the Sandown card 20 November.

Schofield made no effort whatsoever to get him going. Probably wasn't ready, probably has limited ability but Waller was talking up 3 of his (inc Merovee) as G1 Guineas possibles. D'Argento's a real trier, as is his pilot. Can't say the same for the other pair.

Waller said Paret would be much better over more ground. He basically pushed people into D'argento without throwing it out there and then the money came and it was only going to end up 1 result. I've never rated Schofield and I've heard some interesting things about him and old mate avduffer that would make you think twice before betting on them.

He joins the stables big 4yo crop coming through Sunny.

Kaonic won well last week, Ombudsman is better than his last run and of course the stakes performers such as Youngstar, Another Dollar, Higher Ground and others.

Add Comin Through, Tom Melbourne, Shillelagh, Noire, Egg Tart, Raqeeq, Akward, WSTB and others and he has good ammunition all over the groups of hosrses from 3yo sprinters right through to the older stayers.

Looks like he and Weir will dominate the big races again, with Hayes close up!

Only one to cross out of that list is Higher Ground, Voyager. He died on the operating table unfortunately.

There's no difference, djebel. G1 is G1. There is no "Weight For Age horse" or a "handicapper" either Wink.

I am assuming djebel you do not mind Waller running this horse every two weeks?

At this point, I have backed Kementari and Lanciato before him, but five weeks to let the water under the bridge.

I would prefer it if he didn't.

He rarely runs his finest masterpiece fortnightly.

Tough win
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

Selective use of posts.  Four minutes later I clarified the above by saying "You presumably didn't read the post about his freshen up.  He's big and couldn't get 1400 down a mineshaft.....this Tuesday that is".

ps for those who came in late Paret won a stakes race over distance in the NH last night.

Just off topic for a post.

Did I read that Comin Through was also racing overseas?

I am sure racenet had some story about him running first up on a wet track in Europe, recently.
