Some years ago jumps racing was confined to cooler months in Victoria to make it easier on the participants. At the time there was only day racing. Now that we have night meetings surely year round jumping is possible, even if only for novice jumpers in the warm weather

I don't think Jumps Racing is allowed to be run at night due to 'shadows'
 (that's according to one of the protestors I met)LOL

Pakenham can no longer run flat races over 2000 metres in the period after darkness sets in on the twilight-evening fixtures. There is a dark patch on the track.
