Why ? Big $ spent in anti-DV advertising. A progressive society. Better gender identity. The teaching of tolerance in our schools. Yet in the last 12 mths in NSW murders by partners/family members has doubled from 19 to 38. Troubling

As I have said before AVO's have given the community a false sense of something is being done about domestic violence.

Also judges and magistrates still seem to think and have the belief that DV is acceptable between a wife and husband, so the deterrent is not huge until someone kills their spouse or the kids.

Nothing will change, and things will get worse!

The rise of ice use would be a greater contribution to figures i would of thought, but that is only an observation.

Maybe its just more out there now ?    Years ago wives just shut up and copped it .    Too afraid to take it public.   Embarressed .   Never went to police.   Had no where to go for help.   Just stayed home and looked after the kids and copped a bashing when he came home from the pub.
And now there are drugs.
And still in this enlightened age women still breed to these dead gelatis.   Not just once either.  They bring 2 or 3 little kids in to this horrendous situation. 
I just dont get it.

19 more victims represents an increase in victims of 0.000251%of the population - those stats are like the changes in CO2 emissions in the atmosphere in the last thousand years - yes, we should be vigilant, but is it really a trend worth getting too alarmed about?

... are there any stats about ethnic or religious background, or previous criminal history?

Hard to see anything improving the Domestic violence situation.

With increasing failures of moral standards & the resultant increase of deceitful, adulterous behaviour ,   I predict a worsening of the statistics.

   Dial a root like contacts and the betrayal of partners can only make things much worse.

We have to be sickened by such happenings, like the recent events concerning Derryn Haynes . How can we stoop so low .

This "no fault freedoms " of accepted levels of loyalty, going down the plug hole , I must confess I have no sympathy for victims paying the price of getting caught.       Bring back "Stoning ".

Anudder druggie yesterday on the loose....

Took it out on a couple of ho*kers.

But wait a minute....

Yesterday police found a USB stick linked to Mr Ney suggesting he had "some ideologies" in relation to terrorism, and information of mass casualties from North America and New Zealand.

"We thought he was a very quiet computer nerd, quite frankly. He was unsociable. We had very little to do with him."

Apparently, as I heard  from various reports, she worked alone out of her own apartment.  And the other woman stabbed in the back was completely random .  Just a passing woman on the street.
He was shouting to shoot him.  Shame there wasnt someone on hand with a gun to make his dream come true.  Now, see, if it had been the USA, plenty could have obliged , and saved the courts, and legal aid heaps of time and money.

I get a shock that people are so out of touch with the events, over time, that add to cause of these unacceptable DV happenings.

The closure of the Psychiatric Hospitals hasn't help.    Places where risky people were certified and monitored for life on release.
Terms like No Alcohol/Drugs , change of address or circumstances had to be notified.      . Failureto comply meant, back into care.

We read , Psychologists , Counsellars etc, are masters of predictions on who is likely to offend ..   Not So ,   God himself doesn't know at what time or the circumstances that will trigger an horrendous outcome.

Don't ever, virtually dare someone in a Psychotic , or near to , state. to go one step forward.
There's no winners in Domestic upheavals.
