That's a shame, these dumb players will never learn the rules!Dead

First half , sainters 16 sharks 10, not for the faint hearted this one , Fifita had his rats tail cut off ( reverse Samson lol) played strong although may be injured, why is when I look at this bloke I think of a tv series called Porridge, second half may even see one thrown, after all it is a derby.

Full time, sainters 40 sharks 20, losing Gallon, Fifita, and Graham for the second took the sting right out but still an entertaining game imo.

The refereeing is unacceptable.    . Ruining good games, taking away the "flow" and of course making terrible basic mistakes.
The sin binning of a player during the round , The Billy Slater try was so obviously referee error .
Why can't they over rule when the replay shows they have erred.
All teams suffer in their turn , NO suggestion of malpractice but people don't pay to listen to a whistle ( 30 plus penalties in a match ) Joke.
One answer may be to have a board who issues fines/Suspensions against repeat offenders at the judiciary. That way games aren't totally ruined.
They are losing so many to other interests.    Rugby League has near to NO following in my Family anymore.
They got their Entertainment from the USA for the Grand Final , so let them get their supporters from there too.

Gee Sam Burgess didn't wait long post suspension in adding a 14th offence to his charge sheet.

I'll repeat it again. The referring of NRL this year is an absolute disgrace. It almost seems to be a weekly competition how many penalties are given. If they think it is improving off-side discipline they are wrong. Once they put the whistle away (many second half's) the players revert to their old antics. So what are they trying to achieve ? You could get someone off-side EVERY play if you were to forensically evaluate it - so it is purely a cheery picking exercise by ref's to penalise when it suits them. I mean it is pretty obvious when you see most matches square up by games end. Got to the point with me that I am waiting for the whistle every play. Also taken a lot of the offensive flair on the try line out of the game. Why take high risk scoring options when you can just keep battering the line one or 2 out looking for repeat sets via penalties. I rarely get through a full game these days (& having to listen to that Steve Roach commentary does not help either - painful)

Bad news for Newcastle- great news for NSW. I don't know if Fittler would have picked himShocked but this eliminates the risk.

Not really the point, but obviously Sportsbet being a betting site has prices and multis attached to their tipping comp.

If horse form was like league form there would be 50 length reversals and no questions asked by stewards.

Racehorses are not effected by psychology as football players and coaches are. Amazing what a risk of being dropped or sacked can do to pick up one's game. Early in the season the effect is highlighted more than later in the year when form and a teams ''games'' are running more fluently, much like a horse gaining fitness. Every season you see these patterns in both AFL and NRL, where at times whole rounds flip their form.

Gone 13 times now Shrunk in the Wash, he's a pro footballer not a bench warmer, he's letting his teammates down with his onfield aggro, AA's right, his approach is thuggish , brother George is falling into the trap as well, this is why I enjoyed watching ST G. great poppa Clay, he came in under your ribs and you never forgot, some actually ran away, great theatre and fabulous to watch.

NRL crowds must be a huge concern when 1 AFL game matches the entire 8 games of league.

While tv ratings are what they appear to be they will just keep peinting seats and giving awat tickets and the sponsorship deals take care of the rest.

Wednesday, Apr 25, 2018

BY A.J NASH

The ongoing campaign against the NRL from doomsayers might have to be re-written with the NRL enjoying an early season domination against their biggest winter rival – the AFL.

When it comes to TV ratings, the NRL is flying while the AFL has sputtered out of the box.

AFL viewership on pay TV is down almost 6% after two rounds of their competition while the NRL has gone the other way and is up 6%.

In total, across both pay TV and free-to-air, the NRL thrashed the AFL 1.9 million viewers to 1.5 million. The NRL continues to outrate the AFL.

Adding to the AFL’s woes is the mediocre ratings in Australia’s biggest market (Sydney) and up in Queensland. Despite the millions of dollars spent investing in New South Wales, just 44,000 people watched the Sydney Swans in the Harbour City.

Perhaps a combination of league being better on tv vs live, AFL being vice versa and Sydneys wonderful public transport network? Personally I'd turf 3 or 4 sides out of Sydney, the sides who miss out can play state league, bring in teams in Perth, Brisbane and look into area's like Rockhampton and Adelaide.

Also how good are our blokes going?

AFL is great to watch live while NRL is better on TV

Sharks to Adelaide

Parramatta to NT

Souths to Perth

Roosters to the Middle East

...We are going well for a team that was suppose to be getting the spoon
