The new strip rule is good. Well it might be old but I wasn't aware of it until last weekend.

Of course..     Match winners like Slater & Smith are a rare pleasure so hopefully both are over recent injuries.
They win the Premiership if they are.

Can someone explain why that wasn't a penalty try, or at least a sin bin?

If he plays, and the Rooters win today, I'll be going to the movies next week.

The NRL rules are a joke to start with, but the inconsistency in application is just embarrassing.

Penalty try - if he didn't commit the offence, the winger scores.

Sin Bin - a professional foul to stop the try being scored.

Take your pick - same with the movie!Wink

... is the new Jurassic Park out?Big smile

It really was just shoulder to shoulder, I'm sure we both have seen much worse and not a murmur, but they are not real refs today a lot of other blatant incidents go thru to the keeper and as we both know has turned people away, but imo that silly decision will be thrown out, ...just saying Doc

I hope your right but the NRL are hell bent on destroying the game so as they usually do ,   They will out Slater, and half the NRL population wouldn't bother even watching.
Terrific competition in the finals this year with even teams .
The NRL have players not doing their best in the lead up matches , ( self preservation to avoid what Mitchell & Slater face )

NRL interest is falling like a lead balloon and No Mitchell & Slater in these Finals is enough to Kill the game actually.
It has been in intensive care for too long already.

It isn't going to read well whatever decision is made.

The referee call is either WRONG or Slater is OUT.

Interpretation is the name of this ever confusing game.

The Referees are very suspect at times.

Support a different code is the answer.

And guilty.

If it wasn't a player with the profile of Billy Slater and it wasn't the GF it wouldn't be mentioned.

Melbourne aren't new to a illegality ruling out a major player.

Having said that. The NRL could surprise everyone and let him play. If they do there are plenty who have served suspensions who should be looking for a please explain.

Be a Pity if he is outed as, without him the Grand Final loses all interest.
In slo mo , first contact doesn't appear to be a " shoulder charge "
mors a body to body clash . He had to do something.

Clap

All they need to do now is overturn the decision, and confirm their standing as the greatest laughing stock in professional sports in Australia!Embarrassed

If there is any justice, Slater will be suspended for one match, Cronk will not recover from that shoulder, and Smith will come down with food poisoning the afternoon of the game!Big smile

Souths were the leading attacking side in 2018.

They finish the season having scored ONE try in their last 160 minutes of football, with seemingly no idea where their next try would come from ... what happened?Confused

Credit to Rooters though - they dropped enough ball to lose 3 games, looked gone at times, but kept turning up. Damn it!Wink

"What happened"? ..my take on that question, their main man , there "go to" man GI has lost all confidence through injury and lack of fitness , he's frustrated at being marked and taken out leading to anger at himself and gesticulating to the ref at decisions against them, dropped balls have been consistent All season , until that thumb GI was having constant hammies , he's goes down and the team capitulates with him, 3months ago they were on top of the world and looking good, nuff said.

Has Reynolds got anything in his game besides kicking? There is a plethora of halfbacks in rugby league with no attacking nous.

Croft is already a far better halfback. Well done Storm in finding him and developing him.

Looks like a blowout win to Storm. All over by half time. I hope they rub Slater out to even it up a bit.

Carioca - agree 100% - whilst i haven't watched a lot, can't even remember GI having an influence in a game this year. He almost played Euan Aitken into a SOO spot, when he played against the Dragons early in the season, and Aitken ain't that good!

Tlaz - also agree 100% - a smart half would have directed his attack at Cronk every play in the second half, and a good coach would have dragged him for notdoing so, assuming they were the instructions ... and why was Cronk cleaned up late, ONLY ONCE, and in front of the goal posts? Maybe Souths have too many dumb players and an inept coach.

Could be one of the worst rating GF's of all time ... wonder how many tickets they will need to give away? ... will it be like a GWS game at Spotless Stadium, where the cameramen are banned from filming from ground level, showing the empty seats?Embarrassed
