Star Realm was sold to the US in June 1956 and sent to the stables of PD Grimes who also prepared Australian galloper Cromis in the USA.  Star Realm had formerly been owned by the AJC Chairman AG Potter.  But I have no record of his racing in the States if any.

Ritmar, who won the Lightning as a juvenile filly, was sold to the USA but as far I can tell she only had 8 starts and they were all in Australia.

Both were very well bred.  Both were by Star Kingdom.  Ritmar was from the famous Eulogy family while Star Realm descended from Crossfire, a fine broodmare and the last juvenile to win the Doncaster Handicap.

Several of the more prominent exports to the USA have already been mentioned.  Others include Tobin Bronze, Monte Carlo, Prince Morvi, Reading, Pride of Egypt, Bernborough (stud) and in more recent times Sauna and Happyanunoit.

He wants to know Australian trained horses to have raced overseas but not NZ since 1990
But he doesn’t want to include horses sold to Asia

Why? I don’t know. But that’s what’s happening

Also an Aussie horse recently in UK jumps races for Venetia Williams I think. Might have been set  for the National at some stage. Not sure about the name. Anyone?

Hang on? Do you only want Australian trained when they raced overseas?
Because if you included ex Australian horses then you would have to included the thousands sold to Asia as they fall under that category
