Sorry guys, surprised me as well, he seems ok however waiting for results to do a scope on him. Its a possibility he just blew up maybe the pace was to fast, does anyone know the sectionals what they run the first 600m.

I think Black Roe's run at Benalla yesterday was an improovement on his first run but I dont think he is going as well as he should be however considering heavy track he had the wide barrier and it was planned to ride the horse of the pace unfortunately he got caught wide and couldnt quite settle for the first furlong or so and was the widest for most of the trip and it looked like he worked hard up the straight because it seemed like that was part of the track were the going was tough because all the other horses were closer to the rail probably should have been 2 or 3 horses closer to the rail as well. Under the circumstances maybe should have finished closer. Should improve on that run next time and jockey said probably try him over more ground. Dont be shy to tell me your views,

Be guided by your trainer. He was wide and did die on his run. Now that you have gone this far it's definitely worth another run or two whilst he is up and about.
Ultimately D Hayes won't want him if he can't win , so go by what he tells you and more importantly act on it. Good luck though Tony , he could just as easily win his next start.

I think his run was ok Tony.
He was entitled to weaken a little given his run in transit but he stuck to his task. Personally I would give him a try on a dry track and if no luck would send him to a cheaper trainer and try and notch up a few wins on the country tracks. Try him on a Synthetic surface he has plenty of early speed he may luv it and might go bang, bang with a couple of wins. If he comes up short next time take the reigns and think outside the square. Over to Adelaide maybe with a good trainer to get some confidence on the country circuit and progress into town. If he is just missing out find an easier playing field, sure the money is less however you want some cheques rolling in for your effort and expense. |
