Is this case the canary in the coal mine and why the AFP did what they did?

Can hardly have employees working AGAINST their employer, no matter the setting.

Compliance is what is expected.

I wouldnt last to lunch time, in the wrong place LOL LOL

come on pt

"fat" public servants is not a thing for nothing...

if the lady could do 9000 tweets in her private time, sadly she must have been lonely.

I hope the union looks out for her mental health, at least.

Public service code of behavior agreements, particularly in sensitive departments clearly mean something. A lesson in there.

Maybe the public servants union saw it as Sandi did, a loser.

There probably isn't a workplace anywhere in Australia where you can act against the interests of the employer and get away with it.

But Lyin' Izzie has been singled out for his religious beliefs, right? Get a grip.

oh dear pt, xenophobia, racism and all that.
Mr Hastie has been following my china thread LOL
Your idea of change pt; curious, when does change stop? When YOU are satisfied?

Like no other time in history': Australia facing unprecedented national security test

The head of Parliament's powerful intelligence committee has warned Australia is facing an unprecedented economic and national security test, likening the world's approach to containing China to the "catastrophic failure" to prevent the rise of Nazi Germany.

In comments that represent the strongest condemnation of Beijing by any member of the Morrison government, Andrew Hastie said "choices will be made for us" unless Australia confronted the reality of China's ambitions. The former SAS captain also took a swipe at political leaders, arguing there was "more to be done" to deal with Beijing's military expansion in the Indo-Pacific region.

"Right now our greatest vulnerability lies not in our infrastructure but in our thinking. That intellectual failure makes us institutionally weak."The Liberal MP warned of an erosion of "our sovereignty and our freedoms" if Australians did not understand the challenges China's behaviour posed for state and federal Parliaments, corporate Australia and universities."The West once believed that economic liberalisation would naturally lead to democratisation in China. This was our Maginot Line. It would keep us safe, just as the French believed their series of steel and concrete forts would guard them against the German advance in 1940. But their thinking failed catastrophically. The French had failed to appreciate the evolution of mobile warfare," Mr Hastie wrote in an opinion piece for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

"Like the French, Australia has failed to see how mobile our authoritarian neighbour has become. Even worse, we ignore the role that ideology plays in [Beijing's] actions across the Indo-Pacific region."

Mr Hastie said the West had made the same mistake before in believing the actions of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin "were the rational actions of a realist great power".

The backbencher's intervention will rattle the government, which is trying to balance its strategic partnership with the United States against China's status as Australia's largest two-way trading partner. The militarisation of man-made islands in the South China Sea, a possible deal to station Chinese troops and store weapons at a naval base in Cambodia, and Beijing's strategy of loading Pacific nations with billions of dollars of debt have alarmed hawkish defence officials and policymakers in Australia, Asia and the US.

In a separate interview, Mr Hastie stressed his criticism was not directed at Chinese citizens.

"Our argument is not with the Chinese people themselves. We have many, many things in common, and we have many Chinese Australians here making a really invaluable contribution to our social fabric," Mr Hastie said.

He added his "heart is pounding for the protesters" in Hong Kong amid growing fears the Chinese military may be deployed to halt a huge pro-democracy movement.

Mr Hastie praised the Coalition for banning Chinese technology giant Huawei from the 5G network and passing foreign interference and espionage laws but said more must be done.

"It is impossible to forsake the United States, our closest security and investment partner. It is also impossible to disengage from China, our largest trading partner," Mr Hastie said.

"This is the central point: almost every strategic and economic question facing Australia in the coming decades will be refracted through the geopolitical competition of the US and the People's Republic of China.

"The next decade will test our democratic values, our economy, our alliances and our security like no other time in Australian history."

Mr Hastie stressed Australia must take Xi Jinping at his word when the Chinese President flagged Beijing's rise was a project requiring the "tireless struggle" of 10 generations."With history as our guide, we have no reason to doubt President Xi," Mr Hastie said.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison this week ruled out the construction of US missile bases in Australia, saying no request was made during high-level defence and diplomatic talks between the two countries at the weekend. China responded angrily to the reports and threatened counter-measures.

However US Defence Secretary Mark Esper told media on Wednesday a request may not be made for several years.

"It's going to take, again, a few years to actually have some type of initial operational-capable missiles ... to be able to deploy," he said.

"Somehow this got spun along to a point where I guess some people thought we'd deploy missiles next week, or something like that."https://www.watoday.com.au/politics/federal/like-no-other-time-in-history-australia-facing-unprecedented-national-security-test-20190807-p52enb.html

Careful Isaac, it is very dangerous for you to go off on what a Liberal says, particularly a far right faction(Abbott faction) war hawk. They are so factionally broken and the civil war ready to erupt at any second,  you really have to wait till Dear Leader puts out the official NLP lie and hope it holds together till the same afternoon.

Andrew William Hastie is an Australian politician who serves as Chair of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scott Morrison not publicly criticising Andrew Hastie for his comments about China. "Andrew is free to make comments he wishes to make as a member of the backbench. He's entirely entitled to provide his perspective"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WA Premier: Mr McGowan said China was a good friend to Western Australia and "our largest trading partner", noting "25 per cent of the WA economy is based on our trade with China."

"I urge members of the Liberal Party to stop damaging the relationship and threatening WA jobs with extreme and inflammatory language," he said.

The good news Isaac is if China gets upset and dumps WA crushing your economy, the forced secession of WA is a big step closer. Thumbs Up

Try to concentrate Doc.Labor are not the government, Labor are not the government, Labor are not the government.

I know it must be difficult after 6 years of reflexive ''It's all Labor's fault'' but it is time to move on.

Bills fault apparently PT.
SlyMo will fix it though, with another trickle down tax break.
Just imagine how good the economy will be going when they get rid of tax altogether.
And as such, the AFL are on track to go broke.
