hmm, thought he might have gone off St Leger plodders.  I think I heard Mourayan was his favourite horse, so maybe he wants a replacement. Heart

A bit of speed on the dam side.  Should make The United States interesting there.  Not really one for the Melbourne Cup?  Or maybe that is the bit of zip that is required??

oops, should have mentioned this earlier.

The United States is distantly related to Last Tycoon, as Mill Princess is the dam of Last Tycoon, and 4th dam of The United States.

I disagree, Michaelangelo was far more exposed and was proven to be one paced..FOUNDRY was progressive and unexposed...has turn of foot too..

they are 2 different horses in many ways..

He had 2 more starts.

Our handicapper decided Michelangelo deserved 2.5 kgs more than Foundry on arrival.

I wonder if Lloyd will put Foundry away now, or perhaps give him a run in the Blamey then put away...

Nevis was okay too..plodded a bit but looked dead to me..

I reckon Lloyd will either go Blamey or put him away from here, and in the spring he will run in the second tier races, perhaps 4 starts or maybe 5 leading into a race like the David Jones Cup on Caulfield Cup, or the Bendigo Cup, he'll then have another light autumn and be set on a 2015 Melbourne Cup campaign... After Lloyd won the MC with Green Moon he commented that these imports go best after they've had some time to settle in, so I suspect he'll take the softly softly approach here, the horse is only young as well, no need to squeeze him dry in 6 months...

A big difference I think is the rider. Stevie Arnold is legless. Negative quiet rider, but when Craig Williams jumps on it's a different story.

Is this the only Lloyd Williams thread we have on the forum ?

Libation a 5yo gelding is an interesting first starter for the Williams colours. Over 1800m.

Peter Moody has a couple of interesting ones as well.

Libation is an interesting runner. He makes his debute in the Williams colours as a geriatric 5yo gelding over 1800m in the 3rd at Sandown today.

I was wondering what happened there.... I posted in the other thread:

Interesting. Libation is with 14 other horses listed in the Inglis 2015 March Thoroughbred sale.
