Unless you can be a horse trainer by remote control from your loungeroom I fail to see how he can be a horse trainer.

How many hours a week does it take to be a horse trainer? 50? 70?

Many trainers don't go to the races. John Hawkes for a start. Has nothing to do with whether they're the trainer, or not.

Of course Hawkes is at Warwick Farm every morning. Just as Williams is at his farm at Mt. Macedon every morning.

Not much to really read between the lines , he worked home well in a strong formline race last start without being flogged to the line , Lloyd is a astute placer of his horses , if he ever officially takes out a licence i'd go to him , he has plenty of coin for a reason !

williams runs/owns the operation is the CEO, the trainer takes his orders from the CEO.
bad for racing ?  a case both sides of the debate could make.

I spose the the bloke who pays the bills always has the final say , a bit like singo today! Decisions are hopefully based upon agreement , not a standover of  the trainer ,or a trainer disregarding the opinion of owners who have been in the industry longer than the trainer.

Lloyd has a lot of input, but the whole team trains.
Also, isn't Lee Freedman there as part of the training team?

I know for sure that Lloyd places them, I think Hickmott's job is to get them ready.

Lee's title is Director of Racing. Does anyone have any idea what that means?
