I was all over this fellow today, surprised he drifted out to around $25/$7.  Was tracking into it perfectly then had nowhere to go on the turn.  By the time he got out the others were off and gone CryBroken Heart

Looks to have a big future!

Went out on a high after an excellent run in the CG. Resumes in the Autumn Stakes 1400m.

2/2 first up, not badly treated on Sat 2kg over the limit.

Query is where he settles in the big field, and 0/2 at Caulfield.

Exciting times for the G clan.

Damien Oliver - Levendi among my best autumn rides

Australian Guineas hopeful Levendi has been pinpointed by champion jockey Damien Oliver as the horse he is most looking forward to riding during the autumn carnival.

A winner of the Group III Carbine Club Stakes last spring, Levendi resumes in Saturday's Autumn Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield.

Levendi's first Group I target for his campaign will be the Australian Guineas three weeks later.

Oliver is yet to ride Levendi in a race but believes the Peter Gelagotis-trained colt, which has won three of his five starts, can step up this campaign in some feature races against his own age.

"Levendi I think is one who has got his best ahead of him, so I'm hoping he can really stand up," Oliver said.

"He's a promising horse.

"He hasn't reached his full potential yet so I think there's nice room for improvement there."

Levendi is the $4.60 favourite for the Autumn Stakes in a field of 14 which also includes the resuming SandownGuineas winner Villermont.

"I've trialled him and he is trialling well but it looks like a nice race, the Autumn Stakes," Oliver said.

"There's some nice three-year-olds around, so it won't be easy."

Oliver's book of six rides at Caulfield on Saturday includes Lord Of The Sky in the Group I CF Orr Stakes, while he will be aboard colt Seberate and filly Seabrook in the respective Blue Diamond Preludes.

He said he was yet to lock in a Blue Diamond Stakes ride.

"I reckon we'll know more after this weekend," Oliver said.

Levendi always trials in a similar way and in fact in his last jump out over 1000m he sat 5 wide the entire trip and worked home nicely (no prize money in trials) - media to busy worrying what happens at Caulfield and Flemington !

Very similar to his first trial when the smart form blokes said he should be favourite at Ballarat after we got 14/1 - lol

This is a good race and Levendi has the better form from the spring than all these horses - we are very happy with our horse and the Australian Guineas is our focus and Flemington is a better track for him & I would be very disappointed if isn't the best horse in this race long term clearly.

If Caulfield has no bias we are the horse to beat in my humble opinion ! Good Luck

Thoughts on the race - I thought Levendi was very one paced in the straight and it appears his pedigree is kicking in now with maturity (Derby Horse) and the other thing that disappointed me was the fact 2 horse peeled off his back and went passed him quite quick so onwards and upwards to wards staying trip but wouldn't be surprised in the Aust Guineas if blinkers or winkers went on to sharpen him up ! Staying trips cant come quick enough for him !

Quinella very good runs and Villamont was held up and was a forgive run !
Keep serving up the overs please

Thought school went back last week?

Thanks Manny, decent run depending on expectations. 3rd fastest 600,400 sectionals. Both those who went past Levendi have good ability.

Winner hopefully is considered a flash in the pan so we get a price him next time. That wasn't a fluke, as his run in the Stutt showed. Had completely forgotten Price's comments about him at the time - good horse but they were rushed to get him to the CG.

I have moderator support with this, stick to having conversations about horses in the correct threads. It is common sense

Presume you went cap in hand to teacher to ask? Enough rubbish.

Threads evolve for many reasons. The reason for the Levendi discussion is easy to see if you've followed the thread.

I have never message the moderator so check your facts first please. I don’t see the need to discuss malaguerrra and the cleaner in the villermont thread that is all.

No-one's asking you to. Best to mind your own business and let those who want to discuss horses and races get on with it.

None of this is relevant to the thread or racing so hopefully it all gets removed.

Think the Gelagotis boys might've nurtured another good one into retirement with four good legs.

Trainer Peter Gelagotis will be contacted in the coming days to check if any other matter has arisen which may have affected the performance.
