Well he never really set the world on fire, there hasn't really been a son of kingmabo that has.

He has had for stakeswinners from 360 odd foals of racing age, so if you get one then your have well and truely outdone the odds.

Why not look elsewhere for Mr P blood ?

Yep well thats Mr P for ya, doesnt stop em running though does it?

Maybe consider a Gone West stallion? I just saw a pic of Gone West the other day, considering he just passed on. What a CRACKING sort of horse he was!!! I really like his sons Partners Choice and Mugharreb.

Seems they have inherited his fine looks!!

Now having passed 1000 posts I feel you are all so much the wiser for my having said... stuff!

By my reckoning, King Cugat has had 10 SW, inc Gr 1 Devil Moon, plus another 6 SP. Also running at around 60% winners to runners - not altogether a bad result and seems very fairly priced. Not sure where you got your numbers from Brad

stud book figures are aus born only (as well as others imported to aus), so are not necessarily complete for any stallion.
The problem with Opportunity is that it wears overalls and looks like work.

Just a comment.  McClintock placed yesterday in the Cameron has that kind of cross.  By King Cugat from a Danzero mare.

Ok from what i can see and this is just for runners king cugat has had 7 starters out of danehill mares for 6 winners, a total of 21 wins from 122 starts and a total prizemoney of 379K no SW or SP.

McClintock as furious mentioned is SP from a danzero mare, the only black type out of the danehill line itself.

As a comparison Clang has had 2 runners from danehill mares for 2 winners of 10 races from 34 starts, and a total PM of 137K

Melbourne, Vic (Feb 7th, 2010) - Australian bred galloper Hold it Harvey made it stakes win number six with a stirring victory in the Group Three White Robe Lodge Stakes (1600m) at Otago in New Zealand on Saturday.
Already a winner of the Group Three Easter Cup and four other stakes events for trainer Terri Rae, Hold it Harvey is one of the most consistent gallopers in New Zealand.
In fact the King Cugat gelding has won or placed in no fewer than 25 of his 37 starts.
As well as being a great earner for Rae, Hold it Harvey, didn’t cost the earth as he was purchased out of the 2006 Magic Millions National Yearling sale by Rae for just $16,000.
Bred by Magic Millions boss, Gerry Harvey, Hold it Harvey was sold through Harvey’s Baramul Stud draft at the Gold Coast auction.
The quality galloper was sent out the second favourite and in the run to the line he finished too well to beat the favourite Eel Win by a neck.
The result made up for last year when in a thrilling finish Eel Win nosed out Hold it Harvey in the same race.
The latest win for Hold it Harvey is the second in as many starts at black type level for the five-year-old.
On January 30 he beat Transcend and Diamond Skeem to win the listed Timaru Stakes over 1400 metres.
As it stands his impressive record reads out at 10 wins and 15 minor placings from just 37 starts and earnings of over NZ$321,000.
A son of Kingmambo, King Cugat, was transferred to Victoria  late last spring from Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley and stood at Independent Stallions on a fee of $6,600 (inc gst).  Considering the transfer was very late in the season he did well to cover 47 mares after only covering 33 the previous season.
Hold it Harvey is from the lightly raced mare Daly Charm, a daughter of Best Western, and is a half-sister to three winners including the stakes performed, nine time winner Chanted.

I gathered that from Mike.  He should have kept going all the way to Perth.

No offence to the South Australians.

I hope the horse is a success in SA
