After last friday nights effort at cranbourne, snagging the quaddie and a few winners, its that time again to pinpoint the value and shang another quaddie. A decent card for a friday night with plenty of top racing and value to be had.

Race 1 DUAL CODE RACING 20TH JAN 3YO PACE
7:07 PM
3A0 To 3A1.3YO. PBD/3A.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2180 METRES MOBILE START

SWEET AS REIGN looks the winner in this race but it will be pretty hard to find the placegetters as it is a fairly open race to kick off the program. LICENCETOPARTY has drawn the pole and will take a sit behind the likely leader in SWEET AS REIGN and therefore could sneak up on the sprint lane for a placing and is coming off a trial placing on the same track. SHEZACULLEN NZ is coming off a placing at Ballarat and can go forward early and then take the one one which could see her fill a placing. JUST BLUFFING beat a handy field at the Moonee Valley day meeting on new years eve, including the talented SEWINYAFACE. That is pretty good form for a race of this standard but from her draw (11) she will need alot of luck. STAY FOCUSSED NZ won well when well backed last start when she worked hard to find the lead and kept going for a debut victory. Again, the draw makes it tough and a place chance could be best from the (12).

2 - Sweet As Reign
1 - Licence To Party
5 - Shezacullen
11 - Just Bluffing

Race 2 CENTRAL FORD PACE
7:37 PM
C0 Only. RBD.   Prizemoney: $5,000
1690 METRES MOBILE START

This could be the race of the night. The match race between TALKEETNA (3) and SARUM PRINCE (9). The latter i have been tipping in much stronger affairs at Moonee Valley but tonight he runs into the promising four year old TALKEETNA who has a much better draw. The short course distance might favour SARUM PRINCE who can sit with cover and then peel out and unleash his powerful finishing burst which could be too much for TALKEETNA who is not going to get any favours in front. LEVITYS JASPER (1) who has drawn the pole wont make it easy for TALKEETNA and is coming off a placing behind the smart Laser Edge at a Ballarat trial last weekend. Although he was a distant second, the time was quick enough for me to give him a place chance on his debut. KILDARY POWER BALL (12) got a soft run for his Moonee Valley placing last start and will find it much tougher tonight from the second row. With the scratchings he can use his early gate speed to hopefully get behind the leader but may find himself 3 or 4 back the markers and find trouble.

3 - Talkeetna
9 - Sarum Prince
1 - Levitys Jasper
12 - Kildary Power Ball

Race 3 KIDS DAY OUT 20TH JAN TROTTERS HANDICAP
8:07 PM
T0 Or Better. RBD.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2660 METRES STANDING START

MY PRECIOUS resumes from a spell here and ran in some good races last prep. She gets the nod here from a good draw over the handy SONOKO who is now finding some form over the longer trip. The 10m handicap doesnt help but she may be a tad better than some of these. LETS BE HAPPY USA will improve on her first trotting performance and could be the each way value. Include MOVE ON BY, KIESEY LASS, PINEVALE BLISS and ICAN DO NO WRONG in multiples.

3 - My Precious
9 - Sonoko
4 - Lets Be Happy
11 - Move On By

Race 4 MALLIA BUILDERS PACE
8:37 PM
C1 Only. RBD.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2180 METRES 1ST LEG QUADDIE MOBILE START

Good race. Three main chances in BENUCCI, GALVERON and GARSTANG NZ who look to have it between them. BENUCCI draws to lead and will be mighty hard to beat. He was ultra consitent last season and gets the nod over GALVERON who has strong Moonee Valley form. GARSTANG NZ was just downed by GIVEUSACHANCE last start when he was sent out a $1.10 favourite. Forgive that run as he can certainly atone tonight. The other two chances to run 4th are YOURE THE CAPTAIN NZ and DAMO BOY. The latter a good Moonee Valley winner last start but wont get the same run tonight.

2 - Benucci
6 - Galveron
8 - Garstang
9/10 - You're The Captain, Damo Boy  (4th only)

Race 5 NORTHERN FASCIA PACE FINAL
9:07 PM
C1 To C2. PBD/C.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2180 METRES 1ST LEG DAILY DOUBLE, 2ND LEG QUADDIE MOBILE START

Plenty of chances in this race where MUTINY AT SEA gets the nod after a series of placings followed by an impressive victory at Geelong last start. REAL LIFE will be thanking other trainers for scratching their horses as he now can scoot up behind the likely leader in LOVE MY FELLA which could prove a winning move if can use the sprint lane in the home straight. Greg Sugars will be hoping that nothing takes on the leaders as he can find himself 3 back the pegs with nowhere to go when the deafners are released. DOUBLE CHEF will run another placing and LADY DILINGER could also sneak a place at odds.

5 - Mutiny At Sea
1 - Love My Fella
6 - Double Chef
11 - Real Life

Race 6 SEW EURODRIVE PACERS HANDICAP
9:37 PM
C3 Or Better. RBD.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2660 METRES 3RD LEG QUADDIE STANDING START

HILTON DREAM loves this track and the standing conditions so the talented mare is the one to beat off the 10 metre handicap. Brian Gath finally takes over from Max Wishart on STRAWBS FALCON NZ who can run a much improved race tonight in much lesser grade. It has been taking on handy Moonee Valley performers its last few starts and could be the blowout chance in the quaddie. STRATHALBYN NZ is the likely leader once they settle and could prove hard to run down. MYSTICAL WARRIOR is better than these but is a query in his first standing start attempt. IN JET MODE has been freshened and is always a chance in these races.

9 - Hilton Dream
10 - Strawbs Falcon
4 - Strathalbyn
11 - Mystical Warrior

Race 7 MELROSE AIRPORT PARKING
10:07 PM
C7 Or Better. * For horses with a metropolitan assessment no faster than M2.PBD/C.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2180 METRES 2ND LEG DAILY DOUBLE, 4TH LEG QUADDIE MOBILE START

The final leg of the quaddie is the best race of the night with good city class horses going around. ROAD TO RAINBOW was an impressive Bendigo victor last start and is drawn much better tonight. He gets his chance to go back to back. MEADOW RAINBOW ran well at Moonee Valley last start just missing out on a placing behind the more than capable Decorated Jasper. Was only beaten 6.0m and can atone tonight in this slightly easier affair. AWESOME ALBA NZ tired badly in the straight in a strong Moonee Valley race last start and can fill a place at each way odds tonight. FRANCO LIBERTY NZ flashed home late in a claming race last time out but is drawn poorly again tonight and i suggest we wait until next week when hopefully he is entered in another claiming race and can breakthrough for a well deserved victory. UNITED WE STAND NZ can never draw a decent gate, but when he does he is a pretty handy pacer. Throw him in your multiples tonight but i am not expecting him to win. Place chances for the rest of the field in a tough and open race.

6 - Road To Rainbow
7 - Meadow Rainbow
11 - Franco Liberty
12 - United We Stand

Race 8 S & M ELECTRICAL CLAIMING PACE
10:37 PM
Claiming Price not exceeding $8000. * Claiming Price GST inclusive.PBD/CLAIM.   Prizemoney: $5,000
2180 METRES MOBILE START

To end the program we have a claimers race worth $5,000. I am leaning towards KARLOO TOOGIE who was slighty disappointing last time out at Cranbourne but is in a much more winnable race tonight. I rate him on top. The only other winning chances are ALBERT BROWN and SIMCIC POWER.

8 - Karloo Toogie
7 - Albert Brown
9 - Simcic Power

Best : Road To Rainbow
Value : Benucci
Roughie : Strawbs Falcon

RACE 1:

SWEET AS REIGN ran an unbelievable race last time in much much much better field. Looks a moral.

RACE 2:

Certainly a two horse race, but be warned the 2 faves are both very green and can do things wrong. SARUM PRINCES  last 100m was brilliant at the Valley last time when coming from last in a race set up for the leaders. TALKEETNA has trialled well and could end up in front and would be very hard to beat from that position.

RACE 3:

If SONOKO does everything right then will win but that doesnt happen all that often. Hold your breath.....

RACE 4:

Tricky with 2 of the faves resuming and could get into speed battle early. Looking towards GARSANG who will get soft run in behid Bennuci, and YOURE THE CAPTAIN who is tough and has a good turn of speed. If they go cracy then FLIGHTING can win.

RACE 5:

MUTINY AT SEA gets Douglas and has blistering gate speed. REAL LIFE is very very talented and only time beaten was when galloped. They should fight it out.

RACE 6:

Impossible. Each way APACHE JAY for mine but not confident.

RACE 7:

Great race. SPIRIT OF SHARD used the sprint lane to win at the Valley a while back and is drawn to do the same. LUV THA ACES LOMBO is in career best form, FRANCO LIBERTY ran a corker at the Valley last time and represents some value.

RACE 8:

No idea. Maybe TERBAH each way but anything can win this claimer.

BEST:

SWEET AS REIGN
SARUM PRINCE
