Surely just wins the Eulogy Stakes today, doesn't it?

Only danger is Our Ella Belle, who is the horse I want to be on for the New Zealand Oaks, perhaps even one of the Australian Oaks races.

It is a good field and she should just win but too short on the tote for me so I am just watching and hoping she does it.  Interesting that James has elected to travel down to partner Our Elle Belle though missing out on the riches at Te Rapa.

Dashed away and looked to have it won, the other one came late and grabbed her two strides from the line. Not sure if KL was right at home on the track but the other filly looks pretty classy, they gapped the rest.

St Germaine was 2nd in the G1 Levin Classic, but was beaten by a horse who was outclassed by Katie Lee so shouldn't be too much trouble so long as Katie is at her best which is the question mark after the tough racing she has had.

It was a very good run considering she was sweating up 7-8 minutes before the start. She slightly died on her run the last 100m but just fell in ahead of very fast finishing Adaline.  She is certainly one decent filly and can't wait to see her in Oz but it will be a very long time before that happens.

I hope so but he said a couple of weeks ago that he will see out her three year old year only in NZ then they will decide on whether to take her to Oz or not

She has sure had some tough racing as a 3yo and it doesn't look like stopping, I have doubts about her getting 2400m but connections are hopeful.

What a terrible ride! I know the instructions were to go back but on a slow pace and last on the turn she was going to have to be a superstar to win

To Rogie's credit he admitted that he made a blunder with his instructions. The filly is going to the paddock for 10 days and will then have another run at Auckland in the last week of January before going to the fillies race at Te Rapa.

Opie should have gone at about the 600m when she throwing her head in the air. The $20,000 filly beats the $340,000 filly.. racing's a great leveler.

From todays NZ Herald....

Arlington will now accompany stablemate Katie Lee to Trentham.

He will take on the Douro Cup and Katie Lee will aim at the $70,000 Desert Gold Stakes. Debbie Rogerson says Katie Lee has freshened nicely since her tough efforts in the Eight Carat Classic and Royal Stakes at Ellerslie.

"She went back to Cambridge Stud for four days and has come back looking fabulous.

"She's put on weight and looks really good."

Mum, how did I get this squeaky voice?

Rogeys running a strike rate of just under 10 which is low for them. The good trainers run between 5 and 7. (Myers 4.94 and near the top of the table.) My perception is that Rogeys lot push their horses quite hard. You have got to think about the owners aspirations too with KL

At the races in Tauranga on Saturday Arlington looked really fat so it *should* be expected he will run a very nice race next up.

Agree Neil....Katie has done her job..2 x Group 1's..she will be 3 yo filly of the year and quite possibly/probably 3 yo horse of the year......there are good races in Sydney in the Autumn (I hear this is where they are heading)...let the poor little thing alone and let her have a spell..shes been up sincy July and she will probably be burned out shortly if they keep racing her in races of little significance and importance. I knew Rodgy liked to run his horses hard but thought Sir Patrick would have said enoughs enough.

Patrick is insistent on winning FOTY which she just about has wrapped up. She was good at 2, brilliant at 3... will be interesting to see if she can go on at 4.

Yeah ..she will be great at 4.....in a wheel chair and exhausted.....Big smile

She won the 1000 Guineas against the girls and the 2000 against the boys....who the hell is going to beat her for Filly of the Year????? Shes over the line now...Patrick is kidding himself

Dont worry about the horse...just the bloody FOTY honours.....good to see the horse comes first with Patrick ( wasnt that theie slogan with Sir Tristram) Wink

Looking at KL summary she kicked off in mid Sept this season and has had only 7 runs so far. But there is a couple of 7 day back ups in there and due to her willing style they have mostly been hard races. I would say Hogan is setting the agenda and who would care to argue with him?

Mrs Hogan?

If she started racing this campaign mid September...you would think she was in work by late June/early July...thats a lot of work for a young filly....

Romano Filly of the Year is points based, she got no points for the 2000 Guineas as it's not part of the series. If KL went out for a spell now Adaline could easily catch her.
