The not so ''silent majority'' are not the silent majority at all. They are well and truly just a loud triggered snowflake minority.

Staggering that Pederson could be so dumb here. Surely he doesn’t really believe this? Corporations are doing this because of the money- Holden aren’t putting a float in the Mardi Gras to “virtue signal”. They do it because they’re after the gay dollar. Not rocket science.
Companies are making strategic choices about who has the purchasing power. Hilarious when those who kneel at the alter of the free market find they’ve lost control of where the money takes us. So we get drivel like this. A wonderfully inept response to the article posted. Staggering that you can call someone dumb and in the same sentence fail to spell their name properly. At least your post is somewhat more thoughtful than the infantile one that follows it. I wont waste any more time on the nadir of intellectual diarrhoea. But I digress and let's return to your simplicity. The idea that any corporation focuses on 10% of the marketplace with its advertising in order to garner some percentage of their spending power is ridiculous. Peterson is entirely correct in labelling the approach of firms like Qantas as virtue signalling. They are not only trying to get a small fiscal gain they're telling the world that they're inclusive and politically astute. They are pandering to perceived and created social norms like any vote mongering politician. They aren't leading the way simply jumping on an acceptable bandwagon of choice. Emotive language like "lost control of where the money takes us" doesn't provide any vigour to your weak diatribe. The percentage of overall market share simply doesn't support such assertions. Like many ideologues you're simply a tail trying to wag a dog.

The author claims corporations are “kowtowing to Marxist”. A notion so laughable that it’s hard anyone would utter it let alone take it seriously. So I’ll simply it, since you’re clearly around a quarter way to being a halfwit. They’re not “focusing on 10% idiot”, they’re trying to incorporate them. For these corporations as always, it’s all about the money.

You suggesting Toyota might try to reach AFL fans though AFL sponsorship whilst at the same time trying to reach other demographics through other means? Wow, whodathunkit... |

I thought QANTAS were supporting the Rainbow Nation so that Alan Joyce could be assured of getting some bum fun at the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras ... but all along it's just a commercial decision and they really don't care about the queers at all!
whodathunkit indeed!

So I’ll simply it, since you’re clearly around a quarter way to being a halfwit. Again proving the point without really trying. An idiot would actually know the word you were looking for is "simplify". Even 25% of a halfwit can work that out.
Life would be so much more pleasant for you if you ever come to the realisation that the intellectual zenith you aspire to is a long way beyond your true capacity.

Even tenth of a halfwit would realise a typo when they saw one. But stick with being grammar police, would be my advice. When you try your hand at logic, the wheels really fall off.

One thing I find interesting about Peterson is that interviews from people representing the progressive worldview are generally pretty respectful and thoughtful, rather than just hammering him as a RWNJ or whatever. I wonder if this is because he is a psychologist and a promoter of personal empowerment - 2 things that appeal to progressives even if he's the "enemy"? He generally schools them in interviews and I'm sure they come away thinking. It helps that he's a pretty consistent bloke too. He just basically repeats a few points he finds important. It's also interesting that he's not saying anything very controversial (in full context) but the radical left/ right types both exaggerate it to fit their identity group-think. He's basically just following on logically from humanist psychologists Rogers, Maslow etc, which shouldn't be controversial at all, but because the climate has changed to the point where govt is interfering with thought/ language, and everyone let it happen, he is suddenly some kind of poster boy for radical expression.
It'll be interesting to watch the interview with Russell Brand that IS posted, because I think they are both genuinely thoughtful induviduals, unlike the clubby uni lecturers that Peterson fights against. |

Just watching some of this blokes interviews & he comes across so good. Communicates his points so clearly. Often attacked & responds in a measured way. Can see why the leftards find him so threatening - he pulls their pants down every time

seemingly spurred to action only tw0 years ago, in response to threat to freedom of speech. thank god he is so ...sensible. and understandable... is measured, thinking in his responses, have a look at his interview with tom ballard. tb shows a folder depicting the hammer and sycle allegedly designed by michelle guthrie |

I haven't had a good listen to the bloke but if he's propagating the whole "cultural Marxism" conspiracy theory then he's a loon. Or using it to fleece loons.
The idiocy of the cultural Marxism conspiracy is demonstrated by the way the neo-nationalist, anti-globalist new right ascribes the dynamics of the idea to the left, identifying and conflating cultural Marxism with late-capitalist globalization. This is a fairly major misunderstanding of the Marxist worldview. Likewise, positing as the principal organ through which cultural Marxism propagates itself in pop culture, that the Frankfurt School so explicitly denounced, would strike them as the saltiest of ironies. And colossally stupid. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/78mnny/unwrapping-the-conspiracy-theory-that-drives-the-alt-right |

Or as that article so succinctly put it- "if universities are churning out so many Marxists, why no collective ownership of the means of production?" Free market ideals have reigned supreme over the past few decades in the West, not lefty academics. But in it's wake it has brought about things that genuine conservatives find unpalatable. Some conservative thinkers (Scruton, for example) recognise this. Some, like Peterson, appear not too.

The mind boggles, Tlaz. It takes a pretty warped view of historical process to imagine the Marxists are calling the shots. |

It's not that hard. So called cultural marxism is an academic/ radical leftie grass rootsy/ elitist thing. It gains traction through indictrination and coordinated events etc over time. It came about because more direct forms of revolution didn't work out too well.
