Has anyone seen any of his youngsters either at the track, training or at sales? If so what are your impressions?

I thought he had a good chance to make it and given he is a half brother to Needs Further and his recent success it'd be interesting to see how he goes.

Peter Morgan bought a very nice type from Glenelg park for $170k at Melb Prem 2018.
It convincingly won its only trial in the spring then spelled to mature further.

I'm really interested in this bloke - he seems to be on a precipice in terms of either his stock needing time (which could be the case given his relationship with Zabeel) or he is an absolute disaster. The sale-ring have really taken a set against him and the ones I've seen are raw scopey types that are not early.

Only 45 mare last year but I think Darley have to keep the faith and stand him again. It would be counter-cyclical to support him but if they reduce to,say, $8K to keep his book up then I would be tempted.

Robbo, not sure what his service fee is currently but would be surprised if they didn't negotiate. It would have been better if godolphin supported him more last season and the mares they did send him were nowhere near their better mares. In fact don't think they sent him many in last 2 years.

I have heard that they will probably need time but give the success of Needs Further and the presence of street cry you'd have to think he'll do something. The dam side of street sense may be a concern.

It wouldn't be the first stallion that darley had given up on that in time results see them scrambling to salvage something. See street cry as an example.

Thanks Glencoe, will keep an eye on it.

Street Sense same family as Danehill Dancer so not all bad there either.  That might explain the cross - as well as the Street Cry liking of Danehill.  Double whammy so to speak.  I hope he does a Pierro and Dundeel and comes out firing when they turn three.  Alot of our younger stallions have really set goals for getting middle distance horses and this boy falls into that category.

Furious, my concern is the presence of Reviewer in Street sense dam. I have read that they can be soft boned and prone to fractures. Especially when there are a few lines of native dancer present.

Not sure if anyone has heard similar. Maybe should look at progeny of street sense to see how they have fared with regards to injuries.

We don't ever seem to have many running so could be something like that.  The stallion himself didn't have many starts but he does have an interesting pedigree which I hope comes good.  Won't work if his own stud doesn't support him though.

Sounds like Time Thief again.  That stallion had a wonderful pedigree - particularly for being a broodmare sire.  Well he still has a chance with In Her Time and a few other good fillies.

Street Sense's 5th and final book was 40% of his first. It seems as though he was sent packing as soon as the market saw them run.

Perhaps the stud are seeing some similarities in Hallowed Crown?

And just to rub it in, Self Sense by Street Sense wins the Adelaide and Mornington Cups in successive weeks.

I suspect Hallowed Crown will produce some superior runners at 3, 4 and 5 but is clearly on the nose in both the barn and sale ring atm.

Where is Hallowed Crown at this year? Doesn't seem to be on Darley roster. Did they move him on?

Hallowed Crown Relocates To Twin Hills

By: Racing and Sports Time published 2020-03-25 at 05:11 PM (GMT +11:00)

FacebookTwitterEmailMore

Will stand the 2020 season for an unchanged fee of $11,000.

Hallowed Crown (Street Sense) will relocate from Darley to Twin Hills Stud for the 2020 season, where he will stand for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST).

Hallowed Crown has sired 32 winners from his first two crops, including stakes-performers Big Hearted and The Perfect Crown, while his progeny also include last week's impressive Sandown two-year-old winner Crown Mint as well as the James Cummings-trained Colette - who many rate as a genuine contender for the ATC Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m).

Bred by Gooree Park Stud and trained by Bart and James Cummings, Hallowed Crown was a talented juvenile. He won on debut at Randwick before taking out the Kindergarten Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m).

As a three-year-old Hallowed Crown took out the Golden Rose (Gr 1, 1200m) and Randwick Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) and also scored victories in the Hobartville Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) and Run To The Rose (Gr 3, 1200m), proving himself to be one of the very best of his generation. He retired from racing having won six of his nine starts and almost $1.4 million in prize money.

"Hallowed Crown was an outstanding racehorse for whom big things are in store," said Twin Hills' Olly Tait.

"His first runners are only three-year-olds and there are a number of his progeny who are showing terrific potential. This quality is backed up by his winners to runners ratio, which is outstanding.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to stand another stallion of this quality on behalf of Mr Eduardo Cojuangco Jr, who owns Smart Missile. Smart Missile has had a huge influence on the development of Twin Hills and we hope that Hallowed Crown can have a similar impact."

Hallowed Crown is out of Group 3 winner Crowned Glory (Danehill), making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner and now sire Needs Further (Encosta De Lago). His third dam is Lady Giselle (Nureyv), and of eight winners headed by breed-shaping sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram) as well as Group 1 winning sire Baryshinkov (Kenmare).

Thanks 2nd.

Darley have a habit of this. Stopped shuttling his grand sire Street Cry early on when they thought he'd be no good, and then scrambled to bring him back once he proved them wrong.

I'm assuming they sold Hallowed. They didn't support him very well with the mares they sent him. Now move him on and he gets Collette from possibly the only decent mare to visit him.

It's interesting that Twin Hills are standing him on behalf of Gooree, who owned him in his racing days. Maybe Darley never atually bought him and only had standing rights? That would explain the lack of support.

Good pick up Robbo.  Thumbs Up

We had one that matched marvelously with him, however it became crystal clear by the time his first yearlings were presented that it would've been commercial suicide to visit him given the paucity of Darley support in terms of both mares and marketing.  Whether the fault lay with Darley or Gooree is another matter.

Interesting robbo. I didn't realise that.Is that a first that Darley would stand a stallion owned by a rival, albeit much smaller, player?

Might’ve been a goodwill gesture when they acquired the trainer?

Hello,
maybe you like to read "Hallowed Crown" has a runner in Germany.

His filly "O Blanca" (Hallowed Crown-Edelfa by Fasliyev) raced the first time in Germany (Cologne,
1. Race, Saturday 01.08.20), but was unplaced.

She was bred in Ireland and her Trainer is Mrs. M. Rotering at Iffezheim.

regards, Ticino

I was listening to the Trainers Hut podcast with Andrew Baddock, who explained that Darley approached Gooree while Hallowed Crown was still racing to acquire 50%. Then, Gooree bought Darley out after a couple of seasons and sent him to Twin Hills.

Interesting to see a G3 Hurdle winner in England by Hallowed Crown.
