Is this a pretty weak field for a $1m race...

No way.

Desuetude is a beast. Duporth is talented and All American was a top 2yo.

The Vic trainers just don't want to go. The guineas is more important.

I agree with Pago here. Weak race for 1 mill IMO.

But who is missing that should be there ?  Sydney struggling for fields of quality ATM ??

Samantha Miss - Most probably didn't want to run her 1st up over 1400, even for a slice of the mill.

why are the acceptors out so early in the week?

Duporth, for what it's worth, will win.

Yeah I think Duporth too.

I didn't expect him to win last week with the hot trackwork but this week he should be taking it easy ready for Saturday.

I like the look of Rhyno Chaser not sure if he is wound up for this race but he is worth following as he will pick up a nice race this time in.

Weak field overall, they need the move the race back about a month IMO. Like Stripper a bit, fresh horse on the scene.

I don't think it will be seen as a weak field by the end of the spring.

Royal Striker is a danger too, very good run in the Run to the Roses, Bart could quinella at big odds.

you make money following the form out of this race. go back through the history and say what you want about this field but these are the real deal.

real keen on baci amore. think he is alot more talented than others that have a little hype on them and last start was caught wide and did anyone notice the extra 3kg he carried on desuetude. to be beaten by 1.5lengths.

anyone.plus he got nash.

Don't agree that it is a weak field. How often are there more than three or four good ones in any 3yo race? When half of this lot goes down for the Guineas, everyone will be saying that the Guineas field is so much stronger for the Sydney horses.

We've had just about a different chance for every post, which isn't too bad for such a weak race!

The top4 are looking hot here. Might just box the first4 and be done with it.

All American is the best performed Golden Slipper runner to have made it to the Rose.

Duporth has done ok but who knows how his form stands up now. I would like to think he is the winner but I'm just not sure.

The battle between Desuetude and Maybe I was hot last start. Maybe I had a big run late and Desuetude had to fight back after he was headed to win.

Indirect and Emperor are the roughers one I think have some chance but it's always a hot race for this much cash.

In the 4 spring runnings of the Golden Rose no Golden Slipper runner has been successful. In this years (spring)event only All American contested the slipper. Why did most of last seasons slipper fillies go around last week for 125K and not one of them line up here ?

You would think because they didn't want to be first up over 1400m??

Will go bloody close. Augusta Proud and Romneya are her two worries over the Spring.

Maybe I on the drift. Big run last start and maybe more to come over the longer trip. I don't wanna back Duporth on a 7 day backup but will still be happy to see him win.

Congrats in advance to anyone who picks the winner of this race!

The main formline involves 6 horses (ie, the Desuetude form). Personally i dont want a bar of that form line. Royal Striker was the best run in that last race and his record really isn't that brilliant. Plus it was quite a bunched finish. But they're prob all a chance in all reality.

You have All American and Rhyno Chaser with form around Samantha Miss, but RC has the better form of those 2 in getting to within 1.5 lengths of SM. But AA may have had enough by that stage?

Then there's Outdo and Chastelain. Both ran poorly 1st up, but that may have been due to track bias or the circumstances of that race at Caulfield?

Then a Kiwi, ??? Who knows. And 2 others with different form lines. Namely Tears n Cheers, Qld horse with questionable form, and Indirect who i backed first up and she won for me at 25-1! But again, the second horse from that race (Mysterious Light) ran today and was comfortably beaten.

Then Stripper, who i like (not just because of the name!!). But her form is great. Even though its only as far as 1200m, she beat glowlamp last start, who came out and ran second first up this prep to SM!!

So to my eye, there are way too many variables and if i dont just back Stripper then i may as well back the whole field!!

Good luck all
