Not commercial as SC says, but if you like a pedigree cross, stick to your guns and breed to race . Ring Blue Gum they may have a couple of the initial test foals , 5 live foals all in Victoria. Phillip may be able to give you details of an owner of one of the yearlings .

I don't mind Glass Harmonium at all as a breed to race. Think he will throw a good one down the track.

Be interesting to hear  how he is in the hind , I  thought the stallion was a little cow hocked , not bad ,but liked the look of him when we checked him at Blue Gum so I'm genuinely interested as to the conformation of your now yearling Glass.

Tempted to use the half bro in Qld but he wasn't nearly as good on the track, love the female family, champion colt and filly in first three dams

Hi the mother is Macpherson not brilliantly bred but ok by Strada out of Thunder Gultch mare double cross of Mr Prospector and has Sadlers Wells on the Bumps dam side the owners of the mare were the under bidders.
He is very correct and   good bone I think looks strong and probably strong willed comes from Verglas I think.Smile

Hi I am not an expert but I did use a bloodstock agent for the first time and his x rays were clean and I think his confirmation is good looks correct to me and the bloodstock agent and others.I have been around racehorses since I was a child and I am secretly hopeful for Glass Downunder.I will happily send a photo if I can work out how.He is a Nov Foal.Cheers.Wink

Its disappointing that a WA stud didnt take GH. Verglas worked really well [interesting that he ALWAYS had grey foals] and Kenmare stallion Metal Storm was a champion sire [and not much else since] Considering that Dash For Cash, Snippetson, the brothers Playing God and God Has Spoken are standing [1k and 6k]etc etc, GH would have fitted in quite well. And he would have been given a go.
I believe he was offered but knocked back because of a breathing op. Wonder how many other stallions have had corrective surgery but its kept quiet. We might be surprised......
Good on you Glass for taking the punt.....and i think more than a few will follow his progress.

Hi Isaac I agree GH being by  Verglas and the Kenmare connection is all Ireland and WA really.I have a confession my mare is grey and that is why she was going to go to GH  and if GH was in WA  that is what I would have done. You are correct he was offered I believe AND considered and rejected, not quite sure whether it was the breathing or the one testicle.
Thank you for your comments here is hoping so far he is quite distinct maybe it i just the grey,he is called Glass Downunder.Approve

Verglas as a broodmare sire had a 2 yo winner yesterday at Ascot wa. As Verglas stood in WA and was one of WA's better stallions was hoping that GH would stand in WA.
But oh no, All American, Snippetson, Dash For Cash are brought in. Not really inspiring purchases, or, i suspect, they are free leased. All American is going to stand for $11k!
Do studs and blood stock agents really do any work/study? Or is it a job for the boys?
Murray Tillet is a WA bloke......do you reckon you might throw a Written Tycoon WA's way!

Pity Hobart Jones isn't stallion.  Hes got your Kenmare blood and comes from the female line of Thorn Park and Stryker sire of the NZ Derby winner.  Maybe the west needs to race more colts.

Hi I agree with you regarding Verglas and Glass Harmonium even better Written Tycoon apparently there was interest I would have sent my mare to both.Still happy with my little glass [GH]
probably needs to grow a bit but strong looking and is only a yearling.  Hobart Jones a nice horse full brother maybe even nicer.  Wink

So Secret, the sire of Hobart Jones, as a sire of sires...dont think so. Tribulot, the dam [by Tribu by Kenmare] to Gingerbread man. Demerit or Smug, an El Prado stallion, would be interesting.

Isaac sometimes sires come through, who are not by good stallions ie Star Kingdom, Swynford, Written Tycoon (Iglesia good but no world beater), Thorn Park (Spinning World very good but never a Champion Sire).

Yes So Secret is pretty weak so he is a worry but good stallions can come from pretty weird places sometimes.

You only have to look at the last G1 winner Flamberge.  His grandsire Blazing Sword was a minor stakes winner by Marscay.  On paper no chance and never got over 50 foals a season so off to Thailand.  But from 223 foals 12 stakes winners of 38 stakes races.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing.  Family of Vain so the pedigree was there but people want G1 winners.

In case she of any interest to someone, this 2yo filly will likely go for about $800 at Echuca tomorrow.
Sadlers x 2, Lalun x 4 & dam an Irish mare.

Robbie Griffiths has Grand Harmony ($70k) who's had 2 starts as an early 2yo for 2nd in an Inglis Listed to Kinky Boom then unplaced in the BD & spelled.
Moroney who trained GH has the 3yo full sister ($11.5k Heritage B'stock) who had her 1st start tonight for a very pleasing 3rd over 1300m at Cranbourne tonight ($28) & suspect she may well go on with the job. I do love their breeding, accidental or not Big smile
