Kyrgios was later fined $5800 for “audible obscenity”.

I wonder how they arrive at the fine totals?

Djokovic now on 21 grand slams, Federer 20. Remember when Fed fans were very keen on number of grand slam wins as GOAT deciding metric? Djokovic was trailing 16-1 in those days.

Rafa on 22 - US Open would be handy.

Now there isn't one metric that Federer leads the other two on, both have more slams, masters series wins and lead Federer on head to head.  It's a bit like in cricket where Tendulkar seems to get a rated higher than Kallis and Sangakkara despite having an inferior record, sometimes aesthetics are more important to people than hard data.

We have a pretty good track record in the instant commentator gig during the Aussie Open. Pat Cash, Leyton Hewitt, Jelena Dokic. Just need Bernard & Nick to step up

More climate clowns disrupting sporting events last night with some geriatric invading the court and throwing confetti & puzzle pieces all over the place. There was also another group who blocked the track during the mens 400m hurdles at the Stockholm diamond league on Monday morning. Do these plonkers actually think they gain any support with this stuff?

American Chris Eubanks rocks Wimbledon with historic upset over Stefanos Tsitsipas

An unheralded American player has stunned Wimbledon with a huge upset over Stefanos Tsitsipas to reach the quarterfinals.

Garbage. If you look at Tsitsipas Wimbledon form an upset is never an upset. He is not good on grass.

Andy Murray was a victim.

Bianca Andreescu was too.

Jiri Lehecka had to play a fifth set and essentially win his third-round match twice.

Hawk-Eye Live, an electronic line calling system, could have saved the players their set, even their match, but Wimbledon doesn’t use it to its full extent, preferring a more traditional approach. The rest of the year on the professional tours, many tournaments rely exclusively on the technology, allowing players to know with near certainty whether their ball lands in or out because the computer always makes the call.

But when players come to the All England Club for what is widely regarded as the most important tournament of the year, their fates are largely determined by line judges relying on their eyesight. Even more frustrating, because Wimbledon and its television partners have access to the technology, which players can use to challenge a limited number of calls each match, everyone watching the broadcast sees in real time if a ball is in or out. The people for whom the information is most important — the players and the chair umpire, who oversees the match — must rely on the line judge.LOL

The old fuddy duddies.

Alcaraz wins the fifth 6 / 4.
After 2 decades, finally a changing of the guards. Amazing.
Great game from both players.
