Surprised at the 3.2 available, though the market's usually smarter than me. Completely dominant last start and looks to have drawn well. A few up and comers I guess. Hopefully a bunny to chase with Ef Troop and should be too strong.

Showed something different last start. Might be a really nice colt.

When I was watching that race, I could not believe he kept going, it was almost a Lance Armstrong performance

If he can reproduce that, which I doubt he is a moral here.

Like Tavisan off his MV run when he pushed Brutal and the Queenslander is talented, but he needs to win outside his own state.

Can't win the guineas. But the coolmore should be the race for him.

Caulfield specialist, no chance in the coolmore.

No chance in the Guineas either though.

I think he will be right in it until the 200, just the last 200 when Autumn Sun is steaming will be the test.

WATCH: Forgotten horse impresses in Camperdown jump-out win

Triple-stakes winning entire Native Soldier is embarking on a return to the racetrack, back under the tutelage of a familiar face.

Warrnambool trainer Maddie Raymond has the reins of the five-year-old son of Sepoy, who has certainly covered some territory since his last-start Christmas Stakes win on Boxing Day 2018.

Since that win, for then-trainer Darren Weir, he's changed stables on no less than four occasions.

Granted, his first switch didn't take him all that far, as he was moved to trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, who took over Weir's training base at Ballarat.

From there, though, he went to the David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig operation, before then trying his luck with Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Danny O'Brien, who splits his horses between Flemington and Barwon Heads.

But it is back to Raymond, who worked with the Native Soldier at Weir's, who has got the horse back on the path towards a racetrack return.

Raymond stressed it's only baby steps for him at the moment, with the horse having battled some soft tissue injuries that derailed his 3YO season, one which had spawned three stakes wins before the turn of the year.

He got back on the horse, so to speak, when he trundled around Camperdown in a 1000m heat on Tuesday, and he promptly put up a couple of lengths on 5YO mare Golden Halo in a promising showing.
"He just went around nice and quiet, but so far, so good," Raymond told Punters.

"He went out injured originally [after the Christmas Stakes win].

"Went to Lindsay Park and reinjured himself. I worked with him through his early days of his career when he was racing, so they sent him down to the beach which will help that old injury.

She added: "It doesn't help that he's a five-year-old stallion now - he's quite big and bulky.

"The idea to get him down here to us is we can do a lot of beach swimming and get the weight off him, so the pressure's off (his legs) now we're up and galloping with him."

One conundrum for connections will be finding his level after so long off, as his handicap rating peaked at 98 after his open-age stakes win over Manolo Blahniq and Runson at Caulfield almost two-and-a-half years ago.

Raymond said she's hoping there might be some leniency from the handicapper given the long lay-off.

"That'll make things a little bit difficult [his rating]. If he's still got the ability that he had as a younger horse, it shouldn't be too hard," she said.

"Hopefully having that long off, we'll see if he can drop a few points - I'll speak to the handicapper.

"We've still got to have another jump-out to be completely reinstated, then we'll make a plan.

"We've just got to make sure he's 100 percent before we do too much.

"So far, so good - it's been a very slow process. Lucky he's got very patient owners, but he's showing all the right signs at this stage. We're not getting our hopes up at this stage."

Looks like that racing comeback has been short lived.

Noticed he’s retired & currently for sale on Inglis Digital as a stallion prospect only.
