Would this be allowed in Australia ?

In the good old days a jockey who was dislodged in a jumps race could remount and complete the course, This is no longer the case.

He has clearly come completely off the horse.

Remarkable effort by both horse and jockey.

Stewards ruled that because he kept hold of the reins he was in control.

Not sure whether the Australian rule would have allowed it here.

I remember a few years ago at Kembla, HOT CHESTNUT ridden by Ray Selkrig was awarded a race despite being dragged over the line after coming off. He held on to the reins and it was deemed that the horse had ''carried'' it's allotted weight

"A few years ago PT?" How about around 45.  Wink

There's a photo of the finish on-line, albeit after the finish, and you or others can hopefully post it.
