I’m a big fan of WOLFE TONE too. He’ll win tomorrow and anything better than even money is good value.

Definitely a metropolitan class stayer in the making.

Hang Man is working through his grades nicely. He definitely should be added into the mix here.

Except he will be a 5yo. He is absolutely worth following.

Weir had another one that should reach a high level when it gets out in distance, Mount Kilcoy.

I’m hoping the CJW trained 3yo OMBUDSMAN can join our list of 3yo stayers with a promising future.

Takes on open age over 2400m at Randwick, a track and distance I think will suit him. Plus he’s got Corey Brown aboard and he excels in staying races.

Looks likely that we’ve unfortunately lost one of the horses on djebels’s original list.

Grand Prix winner & Qld Derby runner up, HEAVENLY THOUGHT, has been sold to new Hong Kong based owners.

QLD Derby has to be the most profitable one to have a horse run a place in.. absolutely all of them get offered a fortune by Hong Kong, not sure why the other Derby's don't attract the same level of poaching.

I think the Queensland Derby tends to attract the later maturing stayers that buyers can see improving further into their 4yo season for the HK Derby.  If something is up and running for the Vic Derby often it will be considered exposed by now.

It could also be because Hong Kong buyers like horses that can perform in muggy weather (even though it is winter in Qld it can still be warm and muggy).

Avilius ~ 4yo Godolphin import lightly raced only the 7 starts overseas had his first trial after 40+ weeks off the scene at Rosehill over 904m last week and looks in very good order was a sharp piece of work just idling along out the back only 3.3L away

Like the look of this horse and definitely one to follow !!

Racenet's series (lite, very) on spring possibles might interest some. This one on Maher contains links to previous articles on other trainers.
