The hurdler was steaming home at the end today.
Have no idea why hayes imported this old boy with limited flat form, but on what I have seen today, he will run a race shortly

I mentioned this horse last month in the 2017 jumps racing thread, as being 1 of 3 UK jumping imports for this season, along with John Monash and Dormello Mo.

I'm surprised to see him have 3 starts on the Flat over such short distances. Haven't seen today's replay yet.

Hopefully David can get him fit enough to compete in some late season Jumps races.

Unsure why we haven't seen him in a while, but I'm hoping we can see him jumping here soon.

May have missed the boat this season. There's only 3 more jumps meetings for 2017:

Irish Day at Morphettville next Saturday, the Casteron 10th sept, then Coleraine on 24th sept.

So will likely not be until 2018 that we see him jumping.

Another imported jumper who has been officially retired.

Probably a good decision by MCR Bloodstock & Steve Pateman. He’s had 3 Steeplechase starts this season and has been pulled up each time.

He won 3 races back in Ireland/UK but never measured up here and was winless in 17 starts here in Australia between 2017, 2018 & 2019. Best effort was a 2nd placing in the Great Western Stple at Coleraine last year.

Just wondering, do these horses work out well as eventers, showjumpers or at least pony club horses for more exp riders?

Steve Pateman’s wife is heavily involved with show jumping/equestrian so I suspect these horses will get every chance to succeed in life after racing.

He did make mention of the fact they'd be back in SA for the World Cup qualifier in November Smile
