Group 1-winning sprinter Rebel Dane’s principal owners Steve Grant and Ken Lowe informed Glen Eden Stud co-owner Rory O’Brien on Sunday that they would be moving the rising 13-year-old stallion north to further his low-profile career.

I suppose on a positive note , the female line was quite potent ,all be it a long time ago ,and partial to producing good stallions , Buchan , Sundridge, Sainfoin to name but a few , a lot of influential sires and sire Lines have came from Lady Evelyn . The female line has very quite up until RD came along .

If you are going to breed  a Rebel Dane do it now before his price skyrockets.
Or buy one now.

He's a spectacular horse. Every single time I saw him in the mounting yard preview I'd be compelled to have a bet on him. It as the in-joke at our house. In fact, just looking at the photo makes me want to bet on him again now EmbarrassedLOL

If they set his fee anything above 10k, they will be biting themselves in the butt.

Kiamichi. Sidestep was $7,700 the season before her win ($11,000 at time of her service). Went up to $22,000 the year she won. Then 16,500 and then 11,000 the following 2 years.

Yes i know, but if they increase it by much more, they will lose mare owners. Not only that, now the owners wont be standing him themselves, this will be his 3rd stud move in less than 3 years. Not a good look.
He only got 49 mares at 8.8k
Stand him at 10k for this new season, and hope his next crop continues the winners. That way they might get 70-100 mares this season, of better quality, then next season they can raise him to about 25k etc similar to the likes of Encosta de lago and IAV stud careers.

If they raise him to 15k + this season, i doubt they will get anymore than 30 mares.

Yeah.   Dont get greedy on the back of one very good winner.
Altho I saw Encosta first season at approx $8 thousand.   Cheaper,  to do a deal.
And again a Vic stud set him on his career.
Dont set the fee too high.  Get mares, and runners on the ground .  More runners, more winners, more the fee goes up.

I think I'd rather REbel Dane at $27K to Stay Inside at $77K or what ever he is was it $66K.  Anyway that's the way I see it.

Agree, but i think they are being way too optimistic at 27k Needed to be lower this season and see if his winners continue.
