That was a pretty soft race and a reasonably soft win.

It is a bit of a shame they want to back him up so quickly in a fortnight in the Doncaster Prelude.

WIll be interesting to see where he ends up.

Could be another like Our Century has been for Kim Waugh.

Not much improvement in him, but he could be competitive in races like the Villiers, Bernborough in Brisbane and that group 3 or listed level at the mile and 1800m.

He would make a lovely horse to set, for that Listed 1800m race on Melbourne Cup day.

If I had the money and still had my trainers license, I’d buy him.
Too old for that nowadays

Yeah that might be a tad too much.

I would have gone to $120,000.

Buying a tried horse, you need to do your sums, and work out if you can break even or find a way to profit, unlike a yearling or weanling where you are buying on hope and breeding, which really as we all know is no guarantee.

If the owner, is a betting owner, or bases him with a betting stable and they set him for a particular race, then they could break even or profit.

That is why some owners I know, only buy tried horses, because you know what you are getting, and if you do your homework, you can put a strategy or plan together to get a return.

Let’s see if this guy can claw back some of the purchase price for the new owners in today’s Sunshine Coast Cup at Caloundra over 1400m.
