Okay here are is my last group ratings, at least for the next 12 months.

Cambridge Stud Zabeel Classic

1. Aegon - 83. Huge test here at the 2000m. he is clearly the class horse of the race and while he will be better fitness wise here he will need a career best to win. Not sure he can win but at least a place hope.
2. No Compromise - 83. I thought his run in The Ingham was very good, especially the last section. Up to 2050m will suit, will love the softish track and drawn to be able to be put into the race. Still think of him as a handicapper but his Hill Stakes and Craven Plate runs see him in this with a good hope.
3. Prise De Fer - 84. Top effort last start at a distance that he only just gets. Back to the 2050m here should benefit and drawn beautifully. Interesting that Shinn is over to ride maybe an audition for the Te Akau racing stable in Australia.
4. Gino Severini - 78. Good win last start but my ratings have him better at the 1600m. Meets a good field here and not sure he is right up to this level so a no from me.
5. Platinum Invader - 75. I still think he will be one of the main contenders when the longer distance events roll around but on a soft track at 2050m top four is his best.
6. One Bold Cat - 84. Career best when winning last start. Stays at the distance range and while the gate is awkward expected to be right in the finish.
7. Mali Ston - 81. In career best form but trying the 2050m for the first time. Ran on okay last start. This is a good field so he will need to be right at his best but at least a place hope!
8. Campionessa - 90. Right back to her best last start. While she has not won at 2000m she has run a good sixth in an Australian Cup and was just nosed out by Prowess when giving her weight. Loves the soft ground and while she will need a career best she should get a lovely run and be hard to hold out!
9. Aquacade - 84. Just dropped the rating off her second up win last start. Should do no work early and she a genuine winning chance.
10. Kelly Coe - 76. Good win last start but up a few levels in grade here and the WFA does not suit.
11. Mazzolino - 75. Was safely held by Kelly Coe last start and so I can not have her here. Also it looks like she has not made the required improvement from her 3yo season.

Ratings

1. No.8 Campionessa - 90
2. No.9 Aquacade - 84
3. No.6 One Bold Cat - 84
4. No.3 Prise De Fer - 84
5. No.1 Aegon - 83
6. No.2 No Compromise - 83
Add ins for any scratchings are No.1 & No.4
Recommended Bet: $30 win No.8 Campionessa
$20 win No.6 One Bold Cat
Precedent: No.6 One Bold Cat

Summary: This looks a good balanced field. From the top No.1 Aegon is the best horse here, but his only run at 2000m was not great. No.2 No Compromise is a quality galloper and his 2000m form in the spring is good enough to win here, and he will like the soft track. No.3 Prise De Fer is a quality galloper and dropping to the 2000m suits. No.6 One Bold Cat was awesome when winning last start and looks well placed here. No.7 Mali Ston needs to run a strong 2000m but is in good form, No.8 Campionessa is a deserving favorite and while she has not won at the distance she has run some cracking races while No.9 Aquacade can improve here.

There are no punters club bets this far out from the race!

Good luck to all investors over the weekend and I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy holiday and profitable new year!

Okay while I am sitting here watching ABC's dismal New Years Eve entertainment, if that is the word, I would like to post some thoughts.

First I would like to thank The Mayor and all the admins who have allowed me to post my ratings here for over 11 years. Thank you very much Thumbs UpHug

Second, while these ratings have developed into something more for me, I hope sincerely that they have given all the punters who have seen them the chance to improve their investment returns. Whether you used the ratings themselves or used them to get rid of horses in each race, I hope that they helped you out with your investments.

Third, the decision to walk away from posting the ratings was not easy, but when I was given the opportunity I have been given I had to take it. While I will not be posting for every race, I will posting my own thoughts for the big races.

To wrap it up I am going to give this venture 12 months and see where it leads. If it does not succeed then I will post the ratings for New Years Day 2024 next 31st of December.

I have had problems with the group who I have been working with to get the Turfzone website and podcast up and running but it is coming and I will give an update when they are ready to go.

Wishing everyone a great 2024 and continued success with all your investments from breeding, to racing and wagering! HeartBeerThumbs Up
