Thats correct SC, however that is at Angaston (about an hour from this particular property)
McEvoy purchased both properties from the Hayes family. He is keeping the one next to the stud farm and selling the property on the Murray River.

Six-time champion Adelaide trainer Tony McEvoy and his son Calvin are shutting down their South Australian base at the historic Angaston property.

The one-time training base of Hall of Fame trainer Colin Hayes and his sons David and Peter, the famed property has housed some of the greats of the Australian turf over the past 50-odd years including horses like – Dulcify, Special, Zabeel, At Talaq, Jeune and Rory’s Jester.

Inspired by a trip to the UK where he experienced horses being trained in a country environment, Colin Hayes established what was originally known as Lindsay Park among the magnificent red gums and rolling hills of the Barossa Valley in 1965.

Tony McEvoy, who was once the head trainer at Lindsay Park, and his business partner Wayne Mitchell, purchased the property from the Hayes family earlier this century and set up their South Australian operation there in 2010.

During the past 12 years, Tony McEvoy and his now training partner son Calvin have been crowned champion Adelaide trainer in 2011/12, 2012/13, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21 and they are currently three wins behind Richard and Chantelle Jolly in season 2021/22.

“It has been a wonderful 12 years, but life is all about change, and I look forward to the next chapter,” McEvoy said in a press release.

“Jo and I love the Barossa Valley, but the reality is we need to now find a new home in Ballarat.

“The fantastic opportunities offered by Victorian racing, with its prizemoney and Super VOBIS scheme, are too good to pass up.”

Kildalton Park has been on the market since June 2021.

Mitchell said “the stable will still have a regular presence in South Australian racing”.

Sad to some extent if only because the property if ever sold will be growing beef rather than horses.

First visited the property many years ago at the invitation of then then vet Ray Ropiha.  A stallion by the name of Without Fear had just arrived and the stud manager reckoned his stock might be 3yo's and older and best over about a mile.

His first crop subsequently produced a then world record for number of individual 2yo winners!  And believe it or not we were on our honeymoon in July of that year and staying at Hawker in northern SA when a Colin Hayes' 2yo won the maiden at that course to set the record!

Our stay was also memorable because we'd booked the pub ahead, however there was a large number of bookings which meant we were in a room with two single, metal framed beds which resolutely refused to be enjoined.  And we similarly shared the same fate during our two-night stay.
