          Hello Australia

I am from France. Are there any broodmares with the blood of the one best stallions in France for the 10 last years. He' s an excellent sire of broodmares.

But he sires many horses wich prefer soft ground and you may prefer fast stallions able to run on good ground

If I had the money, I would send a whole band of mares to the Aga Khan's stud. And in 3 or 4 years time, clean up every major staying race in the country.

But to answer your question, Umaga, very liitle Linamix blood if any here. Another sire whose blood I'm disappointed that we don't have any of is Pivotal.

Welcome to the site, Umaga.

According to the Aust Studbook, there appears to be 4 of his daughters  now as broodmares.

Broad and Mix - Fastnet Rock
Classy Smytzer - Markane
Only Vanda - Charge Forward
Silamixa - Anabaa

Hi Umaga.

I totally agree with your points but still think that LINAMIX is a great looking type.

Well suited to your conditions in FRANCE .. but very unlikely blood to succeed here.

Tell me .. how has the GROOM DANCER blood 'bred on' in FRANCE after a few years standing there? Are his mares doing a job at stud?

Cheers

WILLY.

a bit off topic but Val De Loir...would have to be the scrawniest, most non descript specimen I have ever seen.

    Hi Willy,

Groom Dancer died in England in February2007

He has produced several good winners in France but we can't say that he's an outstanding stallion. It is the same for his career as a broodmare sire.

Breeders believed in him,he was an excellent runner in France, and he covered many good broodmares.

He has been sent to Japan for a few years but I can't tell you if he had good results.

He has a son in France wich gives very good results as a stallion: Lord of Men. This one produces also good jump runners

Apart from Linamix and his ancestors the pedigree is 80% speed.

Certainly not 80% short course speed.

All 4 sires in the 3rd generation where 1600m+ championship winners.

Hello Umaga, welcome to Australia and the Forum.
We have just purchased a Linamix mare, she should arrive here this week from Victoria, her name is
Carlaxna and she has a Fiorente colt at foot.
She is a grey like her sire.

This is the family of Selena and Moonovermanhattan.  That family I've got some cheap ones to follow out of the sales.  Not now though.  Unluckily people of woken up to the class of the family.  A G1 winner in South Africa overnight belongs to the family also.  So they can perform over here Umaga.

Timing's everything M8.  Had she been offered a month later would likely have brought rather more, and heaven knows what if Hayasugi was to win the Blue Diamond.

Pity Al Maher is retired, he'd be a good match for the mare.  Don't mind Star Missile or Casino Prince either.

Might be newish young fellow in Vic that suits if you have a good look around.

Have you an update on Mum & son GAJ, seeing as Take2 has resuscitated the thread with his latest astute purchase?

We have just purchased a Linamix mare, she should arrive here this week from Victoria, her name is

She is a grey like her sire.

Carlaxna is a very well bred mare.

Shared mail with GAJ very recently and she's sadly had no luck with the mare's foals who've had soundness problems.

Hello, long time no speak, Carlaxna is doing well, her two geldings are both with us. Oldest one by Fiorente suffered two tendon injuries, off side very bad. He had three months post injury rehab then turned out, after a year I brought him back in had him scanned and all was good for some light work. One month walking/trotting on an angle on the treadmill then put him back in the paddock on the hill side which seems to have improved him very much. Seamus Son as he known will come back in next month.
Gelding number two 'Neo Olympio' also suffered a tendon injury not long after he had a trial last year, his off side also, but not as bad, he went through the same regime but I have brought him back to work sooner after a good scan result. He has had a month of slow work and a month of trot and canter, now the vet saw him yesterday and he ready for more serious work.
Both of these boys have similar set up in the front legs - this coming from the mare.
The last foal - a filly is not like the boys so hoping she will be easier to keep sound.

An interesting observation and may be nothing in it but having my two and others come here for tendon rest and rehab, all have had tendon injuries the same side and almost the same area, all horses are trained at Ballina.

Been looking at the Cas Prince mating SC, it introduces Fanfreluche to Her Bro Night Shift, 4x5 , and amongst others, it also brings Prince Bio into the equation
Prince Bio was used regularly by the Aga Khan, to in Mme Vuillier's words was a good "mixer" of blood, where they couldn't get the right match in a mating, used him so they could pick it up later with Daughters
The Foal She is carrying (x Royal Meeting) comes up very good as well which was the kicker in the purchase (due mid - L8 Sept), needless to say, I will be leading the cheer squad come Blue Diamond

Well done on your purchase Take2. She does not seem to have been bred to the right stallions, in my view. Looks like it was "breed to the best and hope for the best" at work. Plus a connection to Arrowfield.
Cannot argue with your idea of Casino Prince. Maybe also look at a War Front stallion or one with War Front blood in the mix.
Linamix is interesting in that his tail female line goes back to Belle of Ascot / Myrobella ( the Big game family). English speed blood.

Congratulations on your astute purchase. I looked up the pedigree of Cosmic Enigma after reading of your involvement and itโ€™s poetry in motion to me, well found ๐Ÿ‘

How about this?!  Take2 pays $2,500 for a stakes-placed mare in foal to Royal Meeting, sire of today's Blue Diamond winner Hayasugi.  Clap

Once used to say "I taught him everything he knows about breeding and he still knows #*! nothing".  Might have to change my tune.  Embarrassed
