Received an update from our trainer this morning that our horse had pulled up lame from trackwork and 2 seperate vets have diagnosed a fracture in the shoulder. Would welcome opinion/feedback on anyone whose horse has suffered the same fate

Had one similar and no option but to euthenise.  Others have had success with surgery, though it's costly both operatively and post-surgery.

Listen to the vet prognosis but imo carefully weigh up advice from a "surgical vet" such as he at Shepparton.

We had a broodmare fracture a shoulder about 5 years ago after a paddock accident, the vets at Ballarat (best in the state IMO) were not able to save her unfortunately. Hope yours will be okay. Keep us updated please.

The horse is going to Werribee Vet Clinic for scintigraphy. The horse thankfully is not injured to a point that required euthanasia. The horse is comfortable and at this stage the vets have not drawn a line on racing again after 9 months. Was looking forward to racing Geelong Cup Day and then eye the Lavazza short black on Melbourne Cup Day. I love racing but it's a cruel mistress!
