Oh no. Reject $2.8 million offer and now placing the horse (a gelding) in cotton wool. Invariably something goes wrong when this is tried.

Looking at the revamped Qld winter carnival, it would appear that the 2 most suitable 3yo races for Kinane are the Gunsynd Stks 1800m & Rough Habit Plate 2200m.

A shame he’s not clashing with Dalasan & co in the SA Derby, but winning those 2 races in Qld should be sufficient to see him well placed for a Caulfield Cup berth in the Spring.

He was badly in need of the run, judging by the foam between his hind legs running right down to his fetlocks. Does he always wear a shadow roll? He appeared to resent it behind the gates.

There is no way he could have won from where he was back and wide. Jury is out.

The effort by the horse was fine. Nice tune up for the main aim of the Rough Habit Plate over 2200m next month.

Why is the rough habit the main aim and not the derby?

The Straddie is pretty left field there Majestic!

But he’s not actually entered for that race. I don’t think id bet against him in the Rough habit Plate next time out.

Do not think he was appreciating the padded whip.

Despite the whip causing no pain.

Several said that in the Racenet comments djebel. Funny how it's painless but they swish their tails at each strike Wink

Super-duper extra reinforced around the edges, to hold the padding in.

He's a tail swisher and imo they are not very genuine , throwing up a signal " I'm not enjoying this", hands and heels for this horse, of all the races run yesterday you most likely could count on one hand the amount of tail swishing horses, the very good ones don't do to my knowledge , never seen the race but if sweating up badly Waller may have backed off and left him soft? like the 2 y/o overlord who raced fiercely and compounded when then chips were down , 2-8 mill. bid for this horse , they pay that for unbroken yearlings, I woulda took the money, just my thoughts fwiw.

He is 100% genuine.

Watch his debut run for Waller. He is struggling for room in the straight. When he gets clear he charges at the line. He does NOT need the whip to show his best.

Coutrza was a tail swisher.

I think Waller went easy on him after his last win and the horse was too fresh going into that race yesterday. Might explain the problems in the float as well. Waller is very good at getting his horses cherry ripe for their GF and that race yesterday wasn’t this guys. They can’t all be Winx though and win all their lead ups every time.

Makybe Diva swished her tail the final 200mts of her first Melb Cup win. The tail swishing is drawing a long bow

When it coincides with being hit with the apparent feather duster it is probably indicative of something.

Was going to post exactly that Baguette. He'll be short odds and civility in the Rough Habit and with ordinary luck should bolt in.

Kinane has basically done nothing so far. What's getting people fired up?

When they start swishing their tail, I know I’ve done my dough.

Your example is an outlier, every rule has exceptions.

Makybe was probably feeling it when switching the tail, however the alternate assistance allegedly given her clearly won the day. Tongue

as an aside, as a youngster we were given a huge tip to back Risley In a Brisbane by one of the commission agents.

We were told not to back it until the 2nd call, but the interstate ring was in a frenzy, so we charged in and had our last on it.
Watched the money just keep coming for it right until the jump.

It tacked on last, coming to the bend, just as my brother said It must come home with a wet sail, it just swishing it’s tail like no ones business. Our hearts sank.

Never looked like passing a horse.

Last runner ever trained by George Brown......
