Lightning Stakes is also high on quality. Seven starters slightly higher than the 2015 & 2016 version.

Nature Strip's pet distance.

I think the betting, will be just as absorbing for the Hayes, as the race will be!

The Hayes certainly is a hugely interesting race.  Is it just the three or is there a smokey?

ps I wonder if they've found the leg Yourdeel lost in transit to the Hayes camp last Spring?

I had him in my exotics in the Caulf Guineas SC.

The price is right to find out if he's still any good - had to have a few bob @ $126 (boosted) Big smile

I'm a sucker for Dalasan @ $7 though ...Hug
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

I’ve had a small investment e/w on Husson Eagle.
Getting on and not a fantastic record at the track but goes well 1st up so worth a little play at odds.

You're a game punter if you back Nature Strip at 2s on. He's got a few tricks up his sleeve.LOL Might bolt in. Might jump slowly then pull his head off.

He had a decent pull in the weights today, will need to be a star to beat the other two at equal weights.

Husson Eagle - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the thumps and slow recovery.

Montenegro Man Rider Brett Prebble reported his mount would be better suited on firmer tracks. As Montenegro Man had left the course prior to undergoing a post-race veterinary examination a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again.

Weakened from the 200 metres. Rider James McDonald reported the gelding raced fresh and in his view would benefit from the event. He added the gelding had pulled up well and he could offer no further explanation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality and a sample was taken for analysis.

Redzel Passing the 150 metres taken in off its course by Gytrash, which was shifting in. Near the winning post tightened for room by Gytrash, which shifted in.

Mark Zahra (Gytrash) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that passing the 150 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Redzel, taking that horse in off its course for several strides and again approaching the winning post shifted in further resulting in Redzel being tightened for room when racing to the inside of Gytrash. M Zahra had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of eight meetings to commence midnight 22 February, 2020 and to expire midnight 29 February, 2020. (3 metro, 5 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the low range category of carelessness and took into account his guilty plea, good record and that Gytrash had a tendency to lay in..

James McDonald (Catalyst) pleaded guilty to a charge of breaching the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres. J McDonald had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of six meetings to commence midnight 22 February, 2020 and to expire at the end of the day meeting 28 February, 2020 (1 metro, 5 provincial). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, record, that the race was a Group 3 event in which he had finished second, and the totality of his whip use. Stewards also took into account that they had notified riders prior to the meeting that higher penalties would be imposed for breaches of the whip rule. Further, J McDonald was fined $1,500.00. James McDonald was fined $200.00 for breaching the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he used his whip in consecutive strides on one occasion prior to the 100 metres.

He had a decent pull in the weights today, will need to be a star to beat the other two at equal weights.

Chenier could well derive the most improvement from a fitness perspective whilst the 1st 2 had gut busting runs which could impact on the rest of their preps.

Soul Patch will take a lot of fitness out of yesterday and to have the fastest last 200 for the day means he’s right on track for the guineas
