Try not to be so racist PT ... you mean comparatively few white supremacists with guns kill people, compared with people of colour, which is simply factual (so you are excused for the omission).

Maybe for clarity I could have written, "if that is correct, it is easy to imagine mass shootings will continue in the USA", but double negatives do make people think a little more.Wink

In United States politics, the Dickey Amendment is a provision first inserted as a rider into the 1996 federal government omnibus spending bill which mandated that "none of the funds made available for injury prevention and control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) may be used to advocate or promote gun control."[1] In the same spending bill, Congress earmarked $2.6 million from the CDC's budget, the exact amount that had previously been allocated to the agency for firearms research the previous year, for traumatic brain injury-related research.[2]

The amendment was lobbied for by the NRA. The amendment is named after its author Jay Dickey, a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Arkansas.[2] Many commentators have described this amendment as a "ban" on gun violence research by the CDC

Trump has gutted funding to Homeland Security's Domestic Terrorism agency by over 80% from $20m a year to $2.6m and the remaining 6 agents are only allowed to deal with Islamic State or al Queda  inspired terror threats.

I have heard that lobbyists actually write their own bills over there for their stooges in Congress to pass. Is that true?

Not sure about writing their own bills, but they certainly bend over backwards to accommodate the NRA who pours tens of millions(and more) into Republican coffers.

That said news last week of foreign countries writing their own policy speeches  was no surprise.

TWO ATTACKS EACH YEAR!!!! ... It's officially an epidemic!

More than 175 killed worldwide in last eight years in white nationalist-linked attacks

At least 16 high-profile attacks have been motivated by white nationalist conspiracy theories

... oh but wait,

... and them "Left wing Nazis" are the worst ...although their favourite FAKE NEWS MEDIA outlets would never say so ... come on PT, try to keep us up to date on this!

Dayton Shooter Supported Socialism, Antifa, Sanders, Warren

On Sunday, police identified 24-year-old Connor Betts as the perpetrator of the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio.

The shooting came less than 24 hours after Patrick Crusius, 21, murdered 22 individuals at a shopping area in El Paso, Texas.

Just hours before the Dayton shooting, Betts’ Twitter handle, “@iamthespookster” ‘liked’ El Paso-massacre-related tweets, such as reports of bystanders being left for dead.

A further dive into Betts’ social media accounts depicted a motive stemming from liberal politics and Democratic ideals.

Left-leaning outlets said there was no clear motive for Betts, even though reports from Wall Street Journal and Heavy.com showed Betts’ described himself as a socialist supporter and did not support then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016.

Dayton Shooter Supported Socialism, ANTIFA, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren

Betts’ Twitter account, which has since been suspended, was used time and time again leading up until the shooting.

He often tweeted about:

  • Left-wing politics
  • Endorsing socialism
  • Encouraging Antifa
  • Supporting presidential candidates like, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Betts wrote that he would even vote for Warren, adding, “I want socialism, and I’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding.

One of the more recent retweets that sparked controversy said, “Millennials have a message for the Joe Biden generation: Hurry up and die.”

After Bett’s and Crusius’ murderous rampages in their respective cities, many major media outlets such as CNN began placing the blame in the hands of Trump, rather than in the hands of the killer.

Media Reaction to Sandy Hook Shooting Under Obama Administration

Hindsight is 20/20 after the devastating shooting in Newton, Conn., at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 26 innocent lives were claimed in 2012. CNN at the time reported on President Barack Obama’s press conference with a piece headlined, “Wiping away tears, Obama mourns children killed in school shooting.”

Furthermore, CNN highlighted Obama’s sorrowful stature and raw emotion, quoting his call to “prevent similar tragedies ‘regardless of politics.’”

CNN did not attack Obama’s character, suggest that he should put some of the blame on himself or turn the tragedy political.

In contrast, during the same time of tragedy in 2012, right-wing Fox News broadcast headlines like, “As nation mourns, investigators try to figure out what led to tragedy in Newtown, Conn.”

Notes:  Accuracy In Media (AIM) is an American non-profit news media watchdog founded in 1969 by economist Reed Irvine. AIM describes itself as “a non-profit, grassroots citizens watchdog of the news media that critiques botched and bungled news stories and sets the record straight on important issues that have received slanted coverage.” It has been described as having a politically conservative stance (Wikipedia). This description via Wikipedia misses the mark.  This is a strongly right wing source that often resorts to conspiracy and bigotry. They also promote pseudoscience such as intelligent design and anti-science positions on climate change. (D. Van Zandt 8/9/2016)

That's what I said PT - you will struggle to find any mention of this from the FAKE NEWS MEDIA, since they are too busy calling Trump a racist ...

Where does CNN fit in with AIM?

Not easy to find, but they DID report on this ... are they lying or are YOU lying PT?Embarrassed

What did the Trump appointed FBI Director say only two weeks ago? Hint: I posted the video 3 days ago.

The MSM aren't reporting the AIM stuff because it is a RWNJ conspiracy/deflection to blame liberals for the NRA having a vice like grip on Republican's tiny corrupt balls and their inability to get away from them.

$30 million to the Trump campaign in 2016 from the NRA and more in 2020 tells you where he is on it.

Hate may not be a metal illness but hate revenge getting back for having something terrible done to you etc etc all damage you.  So they lead to mental illness if you can't find away back from that terrible black hole.

Very intelligent, clearly expressed views, says it as it is.  The killing part is simply exaggeration to gain attention and provoke outrage,  he learnt that from the Tangerine Clown

“The President is a white nationalist terror leader. His supporters – ALL OF THEM – are by definition white nationalist terror supporters. The MAGA hat is a KKK hood. And his evil, racist scourge must be eradicated from society.”
In the same series of tweets, Aslan called Kellyanne Conway “”’the depraved evil’” we need to eradicate,” following her remarks that America needed to come together in the wake of the mass shooting. The CNN contributor took her call for the eradication of hate and turned it upon her with a call for the eradication of a group of people – Trump supporters – of which Conway is a part.
Aslan also slammed Ivanka Trump’s denouncement of white supremacist ideology, referring her and her entirely family as “white supremacist” despite the Jewish heritage of Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner and their extended family.
