How do you get a girl to put her phone down? You give her 3months on the side to figure it out.

To my knowledge every. jocks room had an attendant at the door to ensure things were running smoothly and although there's no excuse for this jocks behaviour this should have been nipped in the bud from the very start because of prior's , race clubs where these calls were made from need a hard look at themselves as well , as for duckworth, he got of light,....very light imo.

It’s not like this is a new rule either.
It’s been around FOREVER!!

Back in the day you couldn’t even have a phone on the racecourse!

Kathy spends a lot of time training and showjumping/eventing her horses. I think she has at least three ex racehorses on the go. Energy plus 💪 She really comes across as a true animal lover and seems to me to be as honest and genuine as they come 🌟

They searched her phone and could match the dates and times of messages sent/received to when she was at race meetings. Hence the investigation taking a month

What’s Duckworth’s excuse?

“No, it’s ok mate. I’m Chris Waller’s Racing manager. I’m just sending the missus some instructions.”

Is he ‘only’ a dozen or so of the 65?... is there an expectation of celebrity privilege?

Not sure how they ascertained 65 times, but it’s stated that it was over a 12 month period.

Yeah, it is lengthy, but it’s warranted imo.
The rule is there for a reason.

I’m also surprised they don’t deposit their phones on their way in.
But the other couple of hundred jocks don’t seem to have a problem with self control.

Either she’s crooked or stupid beyond belief.

I’m ok with 3 months.

Was she caught 65 individual times or did they check her phone and found she had done it.

Why are their phones in the room.

3 months is an incredible lengthy suspension.

Jockey Kathy O'Hara has been suspended for three months after being found guilty of using her phone on 65 occasions during race meetings over the past 12 months.

O'Hara, who was previously charged under the same rule, was caught out at Kembla Grange races on August 8.

O'Hara has lodged an appeal against the heavy penalty.

Meanwhile her partner, Chris Waller's Racing Manager Charlie Duckworth, was fined $2000 after stewards found him guilty of knowingly messaging O'Hara during a race meeting, and engaging in a conversation.

Duckworth is also appealing the ban.

During the enquiry stewards noted that there were no racing integrity issues.

* Comments have been turned off due to the ongoing nature of the enquiry
