I thought we would place all general 2yo comments in this thread.

Okay so at this moment at least in my view, the fillies have the edge but that could change when a few of the better colts comeback.

Colts.

Dubios - Maclaren - Tassort - Spring Loaded - Hightail - I Am Immortal.

Fillies.

Catch Me - Exhilarates - Amercement - Jedastar - Brooklyn Hustle.

As I said I have the fillies about half a length in front!

Tassort still looks to be the testing material in the colts to me, so far. He'll need to have his skates on though with some top class wins lately in both NSW and Victoria.

Catch Me still has to get through her Melbourne prep. She looks like the best of the fillies so far but she hasn't taken on Brooklyn Hustle yet.

Exciting times ahead for anyone who follows the babies.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left

Blimmy this race is still wider than the Sydney Heads.  Could back half the field and miss the winner.  Still hoping for a minor miracle for Time to Reign but there are so many hopefuls very hard to pick this year.  Did like the trial of the Blue Diamond winner and she's Juliet like Time to Reign (but friendship comes into that one).  Like the grey filly, like Yes Yes Yes.  Even don't mind the Black Opal winner.  In fact can't overlook any of the Godolphin horses.  No doubt my mother will sit there and back her grey and another and get the winner.  While I ditter away having trouble making up my mind.

For me Furious, unless something shows dazzling wet track ability tomorrow this is my top six (in order).

Microphone
Dubious
Lyre
Tenley
Time To Reign
Yes Yes Yes

The next for me is the Black Opal winner Pin Sec and Loving Gaby, if she can get in the field.

The only one I would entertain from tomorrow is Cosmic Force, but that is only if he showed good wet track ability.

I think the NZ 2yo is good, but she is more Sires horse!

All we need now is the weather to be favourable ..

Quite a few smart ones to oppose Microphone but his figures read well.

Is Loving Gaby guaranteed a start?

Lyre and Loving Gaby for me.
I think they are guns.
if Brooklyn Hustle was in this, I would be on her.
Lyre went past Brooklyn Hustle, from similar position in Blue Diamond.
Loving Gaby just got blocked and was jumping all over them.

I think Lyre and Loving Gaby are very very special.
The Melbourne lot are good this year. I have them well in front.

Lyre is way overs at $12.

Cosmic Force put his hand up there today, but it is a very very difficult backing up in the Slipper.

We saw Sunlight and Written By last year try that and they ran well, but the race was just run to tough for them to finish off.

I'm biased towards YYY as I have a share in him but the Microphone form reads pretty well into this. I think he's the main danger. Brooklyn Hustle beat us on debut at the Valley and had she not overraced I think she may of won the blue diamond. She was very impressive!

It's wide open. I think any of them could take it home really.

Was the Blue Diamond this year considered to have fast early and mid race sectionals? or slow/moderate sectionals?
Cant find the sectionals.

I keep looking at Loving Gaby in the diamond.
Was a lap full of horse, got within a length, jogging. had no chance to extend, yet near the bunch, just jogging.
real deal.

lyre has a beautiful action.
Loving Gaby reminded me a bit of Flying Spur, front legs going up, wanting to get on with it.
then flying spur went on to win the golden slipper.

brooklyn hustle, lyre, loving gaby, might be pretty special.

hoping loving gaby gets a run.
ripper roving banker first 4, lyre, loving gaby/field.

Lyre by Lohnro should cover the wet track hurdle.

Order of entry from last Monday, I believe Tassort, Sun City, I am Immortal, Vinicunca, Accession and Jedastar are all in the paddock. The barrier draw is Tuesday morning.

Looks like you might be right, Carioca. Athiri leapfrogged LG with her second on the weekend. Gee, they’ll be setting Athiri a task running her again. But I suppose if you’ve got seven horses qualified and you can keep one of your dangers out of the race. They wouldn’t think that wasy, would they.

By my calculations there have been 205 2yo races run so far, 41 of them have been black type races.
