From a future point of view, are we expecting any of these to back up into the Sires?
Horses like La Tene, Castelvecchio and Probabeel, having stayed away from that heavy would be better suited. And also the Leon Macdonald 2yo who was runner up in the VRC Sires Produce. |

Top Horse , Top Run & faced a task , given the draw and track conditions. He certainly finishes his races off and with a nice break, the Spring should be a great ride too . GL . |

Great day at the track in the Gold Room at Rosehill yesterday, we were all very disappointed that the race tactics didn't go our way, our race was gone by about the 1000m mark! He's a great horse (YYY) and despite getting back far too much on a heavy track to win, still very impressed with the horse. He's a gem, and clocked the fastest last 400m home. Off to the paddock now for a well earned rest, what a ride it's been so far! |

A report for friend had Time to Reign coughing up mud. Who knows anything can and does happen. Doesn't always mean they are injured. Hope she comes back firing as a three year old. Very nice looking filly. Lyre is also and I love Time to Reign also.
The winner is tough and lead and kept out of the way of flying mud. Then was strong enough to keep going. Deserved the win but plenty of good horses will come out of the race.

You must have missed it when reading. This is the item Tenley –began awkwardly.Rider J McDonald advised that the filly never travelled well at any stage of the event and in his opinion did not handle today's heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. The Stewards will follow up on the post-race condition of the filly

Can't believe Tenley wasn't mentioned in the steward's report.
Starts $4.80 second favorite, was a spent force at the 850m mark, and only beats the badly galloped on Free of Debt to the line. Surely, if nothing else, they at least needed to ask the jockey or trainer for an explanation regarding her abysmal, out of character performance.

Knew as soon as the gates opened that MICROPHONE wouldn't win. Just couldn't go early and then was 1 pair back than what they wanted to be.
Still ran super and I have no doubt that he'll be top shelf but gee licking my wounds... had him going for a monza payout. Last leg of a 5 leg monster. Great training performance regardless. He'll be the No1 trainer very shortly and for a decade or so (at least).

Lyre is a gun. Possible future champion.
Well back. Switched off heels. Ran straight past a top horse, Loving Gaby. Lonhro would be proud of this one. Hope she goes on with it Lyre. Cotton wool time.

Here’s the stewards report
Free Of Debt – M Walker, rider of Dubious, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Free Of Debt, which was steadied and lost its running, resulting in Time To Reign having to be steadied to avoid the heels of Free Of Debt and causing Catch Me to be checked from the heels of Time To Reign, shifted out and made contact with Lyre. M Walker's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Tuesday, 2 April 2019 and to expire on Thursday, 11 April 2019, on which day he may ride. On the home turn was inclined to lay out and near the 400m was steadied from the heels of Lankan Star. Free Of Debt then shifted to the inside to secure clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have been galloped on to the off-foreleg, requiring treatment. Trainer Mr C Bieg was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Free Of Debt racing again. |

I believe it was an action by Micheal Walker on Dubious which caused Free Of Debt's issue.
Have looked at the video, and not sure exactly what happened. |

That is terrible news. His young trainer and family so happy with their horse and hoping it could run well for them. Such a shame for them. Fingers crossed the horse can be fixed.

The 2K allowance for the fillies is an advantage .. Especially when they have returned comparable performances with the colts( sectionals & overall ) in all of the lead up races. I didn't back her , but good judges did, at the overs. |

Lyre is a Godolphin horse. Just a different trainer. A Freedman. Speaking of Freedman, he had a 2yo from the Godolphin operation win very well during the week. |

That Filly knocked me off, as I backed Microphone, but she ticked a lot of boxes and was real value / overs at the price ... ( ask Scamanda ) |
