Great stuff Roland.
Congratulations. Wishing you and your team all the best with YYY.

From a future point of view, are we expecting any of these to back up into the Sires?

Horses like La Tene, Castelvecchio and Probabeel, having stayed away from that heavy would be better suited. And also the Leon Macdonald 2yo who was runner up in the VRC Sires Produce.

Remember, it might take intelligence to be smart , but it takes experience to be wise

Top Horse , Top Run & faced a task , given the draw and track conditions.

He certainly finishes his races off and with a nice break, the Spring should be a great ride too .      GL .

A report for friend had Time to Reign coughing up mud.  Who knows anything can and does happen.  Doesn't always mean they are injured.  Hope she comes back firing as a three year old.  Very nice looking filly.  Lyre is also and I love Time to Reign also.

The winner is tough and lead and kept out of the way of flying mud.  Then was strong enough to keep going.  Deserved the win but plenty of good horses will come out of the race.

Tenley
–began awkwardly.Rider J McDonald advised that the filly never travelled well at any stage  of  the  event  and  in  his  opinion  did  not  handle  today's  heavy  track  conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. The Stewards will follow up on the post-race condition of the filly

Knew as soon as the gates opened that MICROPHONE wouldn't win. Just couldn't go early and then was 1 pair back than what they wanted to be.
Still ran super and I have no doubt that he'll be top shelf but gee licking my wounds... had him going for a monza payout. Last leg of a 5 leg monster.

Great training performance regardless. He'll be the No1 trainer very shortly and for a decade or so (at least).

Here’s the stewards report

Free Of Debt – M Walker, rider of Dubious, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Free Of Debt, which was steadied and lost its running, resulting in Time To Reign having to be steadied to avoid the heels of Free Of Debt and causing Catch Me to be checked from the heels of Time To Reign, shifted out and made contact with Lyre. M Walker's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Tuesday, 2 April 2019 and to expire on Thursday, 11 April 2019, on which day he may ride. On the home turn was inclined to lay out and near the 400m was steadied from the heels of Lankan Star. Free Of Debt then shifted to the inside to secure clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have been galloped on to the off-foreleg, requiring treatment. Trainer Mr C Bieg was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Free Of Debt racing again.

That is terrible news.  His young trainer and family so happy with their horse  and hoping it could run well for them.  Such a shame for them.  Fingers crossed the horse can be fixed.

The 2K allowance for the fillies is an advantage ..    Especially when they have returned comparable performances with the colts( sectionals & overall ) in all of the lead up races.

I didn't back her , but good judges did, at the overs.

Any news Free Of Debt?

16th - Dwayne Dunn (Free Of Debt): “He’s been injured quite badly, near-side fore and off-side fore, hopefully everything will be alright with him.”

Lyre is a Godolphin horse.

Just a different trainer. A Freedman.

Speaking of Freedman, he had a 2yo from the Godolphin operation win very well during the week.

Fair enough Max you are probably right. Certainly raises the standard i just wonder about smaller stables etc......

I had Microphone too but wasn't aware of the other tip and deserved the win.

Too good on the day!
