Runs this afternoon as favorite in the Levin Classic over 1600m, first start since winning the NZ 2000 Guineas, owned by the China Horse Club so if he wins today surely he will head to Sydney for the autumn.

Should win today? Guessing he starts in the tomato sauce odds by jump.

He got home, will we see him in the Guineas at Randwick or will he go to the Flemington version?

Best crop of 3yo's for ages, some unlucky runners behind him, the Karaka mile will be a great race, so too the 2 guineas over there and then the Derby, could be another Jimmy Choux coming over here for our 3yo classics.....of course they might well be sold to China before then, as is the mantra over there.

The 1000 and 2000 Guineas have both already been run over there. Also this bloke is owner by the China Horse club.

I've read he goes to the Karaka mile race next, I guess from there its either the NZ Derby or over here for one of the Guineas.

Just watched the replay. More Wonder is the one to follow out of that without looking at its previous form

No, the lead in races to the Derby are the Waikato Guineas and the Avondale Guineas, More Wonder should have beaten him on Saturday, watch the replay.....it's a fabulous crop of 3yo this year, I feel it in my bones that they shall steal the Rosehill Guineas as history repeats...IMO of course.

I see More Wonder who as Bonjour says should have won is a gelding as well.

No wonder we have to keep importing soft boned stallions.

I was looking at the Caulfield Guineas field of 1999, what a race that was from a breeders perspective, Redoutes Choice, Testa Rossa, Commands, Diatrabe and Pins, only Commands didn't win a G1 that season. Relevant of course with Pins being this fellas sire.

Taking an interest in NZ Racing I watched a race from the South Island on SAT where the jock came off just after the start and pulled the horse over with him, terrible, the race was called off as the jock was still on the track in front of the crowd.

The names of the jockeys are almost non-pronounceable either from India/Mauritius or God alone knows, some Argentine names in their also, it appears there would not be a race meeting down in the south without all these young jocks and some not so young coming from overseas,,,, the prizemoney is abysmal but the tracks are worse, goat tracks most, but hell the scenery and the crowds are amazing.

It is a once a year track, essentially many of them this time of year are what would be a picnic/country meetings in Australia but unfortunately the set up here means they tend to get held to the same compliance standards as metro tracks so are prone to getting called off and probably closed in the near future.

Since they're often community days it means if they get closed you end up with a situation like harness in the lower North Island where nobody really grows up seeing harness because it stopped existing in Wellington two decades ago, therefore that means far fewer young harness fans in that part of the country.

Gallops already lost the Nelson/Tasman region 20 years ago when that club closed.  That's roughly 100,000 people out of a population of 4.8 million who can't have seen a local gallops race in 20 years.  Nelson/Richmond City area itself is 65,000 people-I can't imagine there's any city in Australia that size without any gallops.

As far Madison County will be more interested in how it goes in two weeks given that's a million dollar race vs $225,000 for the Group 1 on Saturday.
I have to wonder how long it will stay a Group 1 given it's basically a leadup now but ironically using the formula they use to assess these things it benefits from some high rating horses finishing in the top 4 spots in recent years.

For sure, he could have won 3 gr1's if luck had gone his way, Trainer sacked the jock [Lisa] last start, very disappointed with the ride...he said....so, does he sack Samantha now, for missing the start?.....his last 600 will be quick no doubt. He's been up a long time, should bung him in a paddock and bring him to QLD for the guineas.

Well djebel has got his wish, looks like he'll be sold to Hong Kong, another gelding out of the way for another average colt to win a cheap G1 Guineas at either Flemington or Randwick in a few weeks.

He would not have done anything here.

At least up there they are a fair chance of going to reasonable trainer.

She would have been outright best horse in the world if she was trained o/s so technically djebel would be correct

I doubt she'd have been better, but she'd have won better races.

Looking at the integrity of some trainers who keep getting unlicensed it seems It is easier to get than drivers license.
