    Posted: 09 Dec 2018 at 11:28am
Prominent Perth owner Bob Peters has indicated that Arcadia Queen’s upcoming campaigns will be guided by Racing Australia’s impending ruling on the use of hormone control Regu-Mate.

The daughter of Pierro was a breathtaking winner of Saturday’s Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m), handing her older and more seasoned rivals a 4.5 length weight-for-age defeat at only her sixth start.

Feature races in Victoria beckon for the three-year-old in the next 12 months, including the All Star Mile (1600m) and the Cox Plate (2040m), but Peters hinted that, unless the current situation around the use of Regu-Mate and similar altrenogest products changed, a Sydney campaign would be the logical option.

In line with the BHA and several other international racing jurisdictions, Racing Victoria advised trainers against the use of altrenogest products such as Regu-Mate at the start of the new season after it was found to produce traces of the anabolic steroid Trenbolone during prohibited substance analysis.

But Racing NSW found the traces were so slight as to be inconsequential to performance and implemented a local rule in that allowed for the continued use of Regu-Mate.

“It (new $7.5 million Golden Eagle) is very exciting and they tell me you can use Regu-Mate in NSW as well,” Peters said post-race on Sky Thoroughbred Central.

“It makes it (a decision) a bit easier than thinking about going to Victoria where you can’t use it (Regu-Mate).”

Racing Australia, which has the power to make a national ruling and ultimately override NSW's stance, is expected to make a further announcement regarding the matter shortly.

I am sure Bob Peters, said after the race, that the Golden Eagle would be the aim next year.

Second best horse in Australia, and that's in her first preparation! Can she improve in her second prep? I don't see why not. She improved with every start this prep.

Has Bob Peters had many runners over this side of the nation? Will be interesting to see how he campaigns this girl, Delicacy didn't go further east then Adelaide on her 3yo autumn but this girl is already better then her.

I remember in the mid nineties he had a couple of good mares, Centisle and Spectrum, I think they bothe won a Goodwood, and he had sprinter with the Freedmans, who won the Oakleigh Plate the year it was run at Sandown, I think his name was Drum.

Didn't he have a top sprinting mare with Freedman too or is that someone else from WA? She had 2 names from memory. Miss Andretti?

His two goodwood mares were trained by the late great George Hanlon, who was his Victorian trainer.

Definitely not Bob Peters. Was owned by David (I think) Mueller and then Buckley purchased a 50% share.

Why not the Cox Plate? More prestigious?

If you mean what I said, I just want to see them race each other.

If you mean why no Plate for Arcadia, Bob Peters said he wouldn't race in Vic unless they did something about the regumate ban.

Also the Everest/Eagle are worth about 21 million between them, a little more than the Cox Plate

The Cox Plate should be demoted back to its original place in the pecking order.

So WA has not banned Regumate ?

What other states haven't ?
