Not sure barrier draw will have a huge impact on this - plenty of time in the straight to get horses balanced up and if they are good enough they win. I'm still keen on Alizee even though she's drawn barrier 12, she'll get back then hook to the middle of the track or outside to chase down whoever is in front. I think Hartnell is the main danger, and hes drawn to get a gun run. Still $3.30 available on Neds for those keen on Alizee...

The draws thrown a cat amongst the pigeons.
Where does a Mystic go from there. She races much better when forward. The other filly is in 5he same boat

Will Grunt go forward, I suspect so

Most people would die , if they knew what stock feed costs at this time .

So funny , He has 6 Rottweilers ( Bred a litter to sell, but couldn't part with them )      They have chooks to share their bed area, all a family , Horses , dogs , cats , chooks .

Incredible what these people can do with animals,   which are far smarter than we think ...

Where will the RAIL be .?????

If they go back to the true position ,   The "fast" lane is likely to be the inside, nearest the rail on the new ground . Unlike last week.
Trap The Fools might repeat his run in the in the Mackinnon.

Interesting Race .

After the barrier draw I think Happy Clapper is the horse to beat. I expect he will drift out a bit in the market as there is a widely held perception that he's not as effective in Melbourne.

Would be a PR disaster if they let Trap For Fools in the field and he wins.
Someone subject to an ongoing police investigation relating to fraud winning a 5 million race.

How can a competitive G1 performer , be an emergency when horses who can't win benchmark level get in .
I hadn't looked at the field until starting to rate it today .
Disgraceful, them missing out on the best field available.

TOTAL FAILURE this idea.

That's Australian racing right there. Stupidity really.
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

Well Well Well ==   Having spent quite some time on this Race , I will fall foul of the 3Y/O's admirers.   I'm quite prepared to have them run against me.
Mystic Journey did sprint home well to win a Guineas , last start but had a dream inside run , that won't be available Saturday from the wide draw.

I found little between four of the older brigade , How it's run and state of the track will tell the story .
I gave GRUNT a margin ...   influenced by his 3 wins from 3 attempts at 1600m , 2 at Flemington.   Drawn out but does find a position usually.
Won the Makibe Diva with similar lead up form last time in.

HAPPY CLAPPER (8 Y/O)has rated close to WINX on a couple of runs .   No better form than that.( 2nd in a Mackinnon at the track in 3 attempts )

ALiZEE.. Racing well , but new to Flemington. Drawn out

HARTNELL..   Always a chance , even as a 8 Y/O. Drawn to go well.

Great Dutch opportunity as I think Alizee is well unders .

Nice assessment Max - I also dont give the 3 year olds much chance against the older more experienced horses. Grunt certainly better than a knock out chance - have already loaded up on Alizee but am going to have a saver on Grunt who goes really well at Flemington

Personally I think the 3yos are in this up to their eyeballs. Alizee was good in the Futurity but she was better in the Expressway, making me think she might be better as a sprinter. Happy Clapper is yet to produce his best in Melbourne and Hatnell’s Hartnell. You can have Grunt.

Connections convinced MJ not overly comfortable cluttered up on the fence and will be even better when racing outside horses (see Valley win last Spring). Not worried about the draw, clear top pick for me.

MJ likely sits 3-wide. Some people believe nothing wrong with 3-wide with cover. I'm not one of those. I think it gives Happy Clapper a slight advantage. Certainly not ruling out MJ though. She's an absolute star.

The race is full of garbage that will all earn prize money! It looks a ridiculous joke race. Some one inRVL should be getting a slap. Waste of good money making the sport look foolish!! My last words on it. And no cares, I know

I think we care , But get the best of what is left.

An opportunity for some of the Winx victims to earn a decent quid.
