I've been trawling through the photos of lots for the sale and, in general, the types appear more backwards than in prior years. Is there a view that the drought has impacted the rearing of the current yearling crop?

It's impacted everything else so why not.  They should be a hardy bunch though.

Market going to be down between 10-20%.  Would not want to be a vendor this year.

Property market off 10%+ & shares close to 20% down - discretionary spending going to dry up.

Prizemoney up is a bonus - but likely to be a big year for passed in.

That’s a pretty spot on assessment Robb.   For what it’s worth Willow Park and Arrowfield have the best photos.

Good luck

Looks like and is bred like a filly that should excel in the 1600-2400 range as all proper thoroughbreds should.

I see her full brother ran favourite and 4th in a 955m challenge when under the care of Anthony Freedman.

Thanks for your interest Djebel.

For you, and any other interested members, here's some shots of the filly.  One clearly at the sales and the other prior to yearling prep.  Comments of any nature would be welcomed.

ADELAIDE

This filly went to Caboche Racing for only $5000. I can only see the long pasterns as a deterrent but at that price, I'd sure take the chance & manage her carefully. She's not over conditioned either which is a bonus. No idea of her pedigree tho'.

The angle of the pasterns aren't great either, but at least lower than too straight.

But a half-sister to a stakes-winner with a pretty good female family further down?  Even if limited as a racehorse she'll have decent residual value and surely a great buy at that price Gay. Thumbs Up

Above Foxwedge filly Lot 195

On checking her pedigree makeup, I can't help wondering if Storm Cat 3 x 4 has impacted her temperament Confused A shame if it has with all those wonderful Blue Hens duplicated Cry
