Connections would be smart if they targeted those G3 carnival races.
G3 Chatham Stks 1400m at Flemington & G3 Sandown Stks 1500m at Sandown would be perfect target races. If he comes through the Spring in good form, maybe a trip to Perth for the Railway Stks. |

I am not saying his a non-Sydney performer, because he ahs won that direction, but his Flemington win and his Sandown Guineas victory, are by far and away his best runs.
He is a horse who needs a lot of luck to win any race, so stepping up to the open aged, all comers might see him level out at listed and group 3 level. |

they don't win G3s if they "just don't go" in that direction. Horse seems to have many issues (on to his 5th trainer now) but i don't think the Sydney direction is one of them

Won the Carbine Club in Sydney? G2/G3 level whichever direction he's going.

Okay I might be stupid here, and I know we have discussed this before but I am sure this is wrong.
Ringerdingding has 58.5kilos tomorrow. He has won a group 2, and a listed event. Extra Brut has 57.5 kilos tomorrow. He has won a group 1 and been placed at open wfa group 1 level. Extra Brut has a high rating for 108. Ringerdinding has a high rating of 95. Am I missing why Ringerdingding has a kilo more. He has to be the worst weighted horse I have ever seen. Combined with the barrier if he wins tomorrow I can't see how they beat him in the Guineas! |

Mega stables
Now is the time to look at what is the appropriate size any trainer should be licensed to train? The bigger the stable the harder it is be fully responsible for every aspect of their business. Peter Moody looked almost relieved that his juggernaut stables were sold off and he was able to reset his priorities. Maybe even Weir might welcome the break to reset his priorities! Sometimes you get too big and are swept up in a wave of invincibility and your morals and ethics just get lost in the tsunami of success. Look at the way the mega banks seem to have lost their way over recent times. |

Wallerās strikes me as the sort who wonāt stop until he achieves national domination. For his part Maher seems to be assembling a huge team, has just opened a stable in Sydney and looks to have ambitions of his own. No surprises they, along with HHD, are getting the cream. The demise of a mega stable will simply benefit other mega stables.

Well, aside from my thoughts on it, "opening at Ballarat" is very different to Waller himself moving into Ballarat.

Hawkes would be my choice. Smaller stable and more time to attend to the horse.

Okay is he staying in Melbourne?
The horse is at least four lengths better, the Melbourne way of going, why does old matey Chris need another horse! Havent the owners heard of Hawkes, Ellerton Zahra, Price, Kennewell or McArdle. These poor bastards must be wondering what they have to do to grab a good horse! |

Statement from the owners:
We would like to thank Darren Weir and his exceptional staff for their continual hard work during this trying time. With great excitement we would like to confirm Ringerdingding has joined the Chris Waller stable and will be racing first up this weekend. |

I'm no expert but I liked this horse from the start - seemed to be a talented but lazy type who dramatically learned to put real effort in under Weir.

There's absolutely no question Weir dramatically improved the 3yo.
Legitimately or otherwise is what some will question, and his performances this Autumn will most likely provide some kind of answer.

What improvement did he show ? That was the trajectory the horse was always on, just the crook gets to take the credit. |

I was backing this horse in Sydney. I wonder what Ed Oārourke, his previous trainer, now thinks of the improvement he showed under Weir
