I didn’t like him at all today & he finished roughly where I expected him to.

But hopefully he’s pulled up all OK & can be one of Lloyd’s runners in the Sandown Classic in a few weeks. 2400m G2 race should be right in his wheelhouse.

VRC are looking into why all these overseas horses die.

With Yucatan the general thought is that he slipped around the turn when tightened.

Someone asked the taps to be turned on and with the rain made the track greasy.

Darren has said publicly on multiple occasions that he leaves the decision making of the W/bool horses to Jarrod. Why then would he be training Jarrods?
If you know something please state it here otherwise add 'in my opinion' or 'it's my belief' please.

What kind of response is "oh please"?

If you believe Weir trains Trap For Fools please provide some cogent evidence, ie put up or shut up.

It’s an ideal race for him on Saturday.

But he’ll probably either:

1. Not accept
2. Accept & scratch Saturday morning

Hope I’m wrong though.

He got the quinella last year in the Sandown Classic, so Lloyd should gun for a trifecta this year - Yucatan, Homesman, Taj Mahal

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I am guessing they would be regretting missing the Caulfield Cup now???

He had that race at his mercy with 52kg I think. So often with horses it pays to strike while the iron is hot & the softly, softly approach can blow up in your face.

Williams said on multiple occasions that’s Yucatan pulled up a little sore.. I’m sure they were being cautious because of the penalty but backing him up if he was ‘sore’ would have been silly

So he was sore after his win, ran in the Cup and pulled up sore again, now they want to run him again? Hmm.

I can't see any point in running him in a 300k race.

I am pretty sure a very similar scenario happened with Almandin either last spring or in the autumn.

Sore because of the track being too hard at Werribee.
That’s why they all die, Werribee track is a joke.

Quarantine should be moved back to Sandown

Apparently Lloyd has announced that Yucatan is ‘unlikely’ as a Caulfield Cup starter.

No idea why? I’d have thought that the Caulfield Cup & Sandown Classic were the 2 most suitable races for him this spring.

Agree - the Caulfield Cup seems his race after his demolition in the Herbert Power last year and query over whether he runs out the 3200m.

What is staggering is that apparently after other unlikely runners come out Samadoubt is going to be the topweight in the Caulfield Cup. Samadoubt! Snagged an upset win in a 1400m G1 and he is topweight in the CC? What form does he have over 200m+? What about all of these highly credentialed imports?

Any news on last year’s Melbourne Cup favourite?

Hasn’t been sighted since the JRA Cup. If he was healthy, you’d think we’d have seen him race in a Geelong or MV Cup.

But he’s gone MIA like so many of Lloyd’s local horses.
