ATC Derby, SAJC Derby, WATC Derby, QTC Derby and Rosehill Guineas would appear five alternative targets at 3.

1stly the good news he only had a snotty nose.

The bad news, he will be aimed at the VRC St Leger and South Australian Derby.

Those races were good enough for the likes of Shivas Revenge & Subzero. So they’re good enough for Alessandro.

Surprised they are not thinking ATC Derby.

Wins in the above 2 races will see him needing to race in everything as a spring 4yo to get into the Cups.

Spelling.

Which is another thing these European racehorses do not do.

Robbie confirms the ATC Derby is his target atm.  In tonight but says the big colt isn't at top fitness yet plus might find the valley circuit challenging.

I notice he is still in the Grand Classic Final at Flemington tomorrow, gate 1 Beau Mertens. on the limit.  There is plan B.

Too late for that now and was 4th emergency anyway. The Flemington track does look far more suitable though.

He only needs one more to come out.

If he was impressive tomorrow why wouldn't he go straight into the ATC Derby ?

The horse was reefing and pulling, Lane let him run.  He went too fast for his own good but at least he had a solid gallop.

No comfort if you backed him though.

Thought it was a very good run and he's a good chance in the Derby, probably via the Tulloch

I couldn’t see him running a place in an AJC Derby.

Much better placed if he went to the Galilee Stks at Caulfield over 2400m & if he runs well there onto the VRC St Leger 2800m & the SA Derby 2500m.

Again, He should not have the option to dodge the race and still aim at a "group 1" elsewhere.

It would not be easy and neither should it be but he is a great chance in the ATC Derby. The Autumn Sun ( doubtful ), Extra Brut and Global Exchange would be his only competition.

There is no reason why he could not drop back in grade and run in those races should he fail to deliver.

True, he could go to the AJC Derby. If he didn’t measure up, then head home for the VRC St Leger.

I notice he’s also entered for the Sydney Cup.

But either way, love to see a well bred Fiorente colt winning big races 👍

Possibly heading towards a 2400m BM64 on the 27th or more likely a $135k 3yo race over 2200m at Bendigo on the 30th.
