Make that about 240 shots (60-odd by around 4 per mare) for less....

Back in training with Gerald Ryan. Aiming at the Everest.
Only fired 60-odd shots, for less than 20 hits. |

He’s been syndicated among the regular Newgate people, I think CHC, a few others, Altomonte retaining some

Have very little sympathy for the owners, and only a bit more for breeders who booked to him.

Big ask for a young horse. No time at all between race track environment and stallion barn.

Fertility supposedly but fair go for the horse himself. Was being asked to be a GR1 superstar & then make an immediate turn around

Or maybe got a kick in the crown jewels, which halted Artie Schiller big time in 2013.

We saw him too, at the first parade. He was laidback, but the horse is fit and still in the racing groove. Nice type, confirmation. Though it seems he’s done a tendon. Makes sense to me that he take it all in his stride, lot quieter there than a city meet. Unlike Dissident who charged around like a cat on a hot tin roof, now there’s a horse that needs something to do! 😆

Pretty laid back and just sauntered around with not much interest in proceedings or the crowd. Hard to say as not beefed up yet. Only arrived at the place Thursday night. Both front legs heavily bandaged. Not lame or limping. If you saw him at the parade he wouldnt be one you would gasp and say OMG isnt he handsome. I dunno what to say about him really,,,to explain how he looked, as he just looked like a nice brown horse with a massive white blaze to me If I saw him in a paddock he would just look like another horse. No doubt with time and let down he will bulk up and look more like a stallion .

It's all very well whining when other people are putting their money on the line, but would anyone stand him for less when you can fill him at this fee?

It is spin and fashion that run the industry , what creates talk, not results, we get it from our office as tradies just waffle, we call it bulla gelatia.

Exactly robbo, you can’t just charge for every stallion on potential. And I concur on Pariah,

My view is that Pariah at $22K is a joke, and wouldn't happen anywhere else. I am more than happy to support horses that I believe displayed genuine Group 1 potential but didn't quite deliver (Counterattack last year, Bull Point this year) but do so on the basis that I will be getting a commensurate reduction in service fee. |

Great story, we’ll use that when selling yearlings - the calendar didn’t suit the mare, so... We have a black type measuring stick and that is just where we are at when justifying freshman stud fees. We have proven stallions like Choisir in the high $20’s so how does a non G1 winner justify the same fee? He found his mark around Pariah, which had a Blue Diamond 2nd to his name, and stands for $22 - less the break downs and throat problem and by Redoutes who has been more successful than Snitzel with sire sons. |

Why does he have to win a G1 to justify $22k?
As a breeder, isn't it enough to prove that he was the fastest thing going around at any stage? Is it genetics fault that he was not right on the days when G1s were run? You could just as easily blame the calendar, or the weather - and that's before turning on the jockey, trainer &/or barrier.
