Just wTching a 1-10 best finishes on Pay TV. Bonecrusher, Freemason, were great races, but my gong goes to the QE2 at Flemington about 1967-8 when Rain Lover and Big Philou were the only starters, not a match race, but that's how it turned out with no other acceptors. What are others' opinions?

A few of favourites off the top of my head:

Bonecrusher - 1987 Australian Cup : every bit as spine tingling as his Cox Plate win. Check it out on YouTube

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VUbeSfBV6pw

Saintly - 1996 Cox Plate : ding dong finish with Filante, Juggler & All Our Mob

Octagonal - 1997 Australian Cup : Occy getting off the canvas to win another G1

Burroye Lord - 1998 VRC GN Steeple : a personal fave having watched this one live, astonishing run by the runner up Off Again who came from a mile back to just fail to nab Burroye Lord

If you ever see a photo of the 1973 AJC Derby Lord Hybrow of Imagele, Leica Lover and Grand Cidiumn I'm sure that one will stay with you for a while.

The Turnbull effort of Winx 2018 is as good as i've seen.

Her final 800 m from being well back in a slow early sectional hopelessly pocketed ( twice ) and wins Hard held was fantastic.

The finish for the 1918 Craven Plate with 4 locked together was regarded as the best finish for a principal race up to that time and for decades after.

It was immortalised in one of Martin Stainforth's famous paintings
