Didn't back it but the lovely grey Racing Rory R3 at Strathalbyn looked a treat and won accordingly. Was thinking what a poor ride it was as Crowther dragged it back, and back, and back, but she had the last laugh in the best way possible by giving it air and finding the best part of the track. Green and raw, did it on natural ability.

I just checked his record and see he has been banned twice for barrier problems at the trials, obviously has issues. Rising 5yo

I'm reluctant to bag rides because l end up getting bagged on here but wow wee. Jeff Lloyd. It's a good thing he's retiring. He's poison on backmarkers. Definitely won't be missed.

I reckon we'll skip that and send him straight into the nursing home.

But seriously, watch his ride on Te Amo. He's lucky he rides up there where they don't give a f***.

Surely he's gotta be grilled for that. I don't understand why he let horses go around him on the outside.

For once I actually agree. It was tactically very poor.

South Africans are always liable to take the soft/cold option on backmakers resulting in some ridiculous rides.

He felt in his heart it was right to not show the required vigour.

The dill doing the interview did not bother asking why such an impressive beast was gelded.

Not only do we have gelati trainers we have gelati interviewers who can not think on their feet.

She asks why did he buy the horse and he says because he was such an impressive horse, Surely the follow up question to such an inane question is, If he is such an impressive horse Why TF did you geld him ?

We must be looking at a different horse.

I had no issue with the ride.

You know as well as I there a number of reasons why, one could be the reason why they sold him ( only guessing) , many years ago I was dirty on the bookie owner of a wonderful horse called Prince Darius who had him gelded rising 6 years , his form tapered off after that and never returned to the competitive horse he was chasing and at times beating Tulloch amongst others, but I got over it , move on djebel.

It must be a rough day for djebel.

OTI unwrapped their Frankel import San Remo at Sandown today. They have gelded him.  On their web site they say...

Gelding – the key to San Remo

One of the hardest decisions connections have to make is to geld an impeccably-bred horse.  When the sire is Frankel and the dam has already produced two Group 1 winners, the decision to geld is agonising.  However, sometimes if you want a racehorse, you simply have no choice.

Such was the position with San Remo when he was acquired from Coolmore late last year.  He colt had won one of his nine races over the distance of 2200m and was considered by Coolmore not capable of matching the feats of his siblings.  With gelding in mind therefore, OTI took the risk of buying the horse and changing his behavioural habits so that he could perform to his best on the track.

San Remo’s new trainer, Archie Alexander, quickly realised that gelding was necessary and, following the procedure, gave the horse plenty of time for his testosterone to leave his system.  His process seems to have paid off, as the four-year-old gelding is now ready for the races.  San Remo has now developed into a well-behaved, attractive-looking racehorse who should make his mark in Australia over distances of 2000m plus.  He has shown in his trials that he possesses plenty of stamina, albeit that he may lack a turn of foot.  As a horse ready to embark on hopefully a long and successful season as a stayer in Australia, he seems a very happy and sound horse for his new partners.

Archie will bring his racing career along slowly, with every intention of the horse reaching great heights in the 2018/19 seasons and beyond.

San Remo finished 6th today but he is going need more than a mile.
