However, now listed as being in work with Beetroot Williams at the Bool.

This was from the January Inglis Sale (he was a withdrawal)

Absolute A grade Japanese Stallion just retired from Racing- He started favourite for the Stradbroke with Darren Weir stating “ his the best Japanese horse I have trained” but unfortunately he missed a start and after some bad luck he's had a tie back surgery that hasn’t worked and needs to be done again”.

His ratings in Japan where 1 length below Lys Gracieux and he would have been easily a Group 1 winner in Australia with even luck.

Lovely attitude and physical type.

Sold unreserved.

Not sure how much Australian Bloodstock paid for this Japanese stallion back in 2018.

But despite a bit of hype, he only had 4 starts for DK Weir.  Then shuffled off to Anthony Freedman & Paul Pruesker, neither of who could get him back to race track.

Now up for sale on Inglis Digital - currently no bids.

Agree. The one thing in his favour is that Weir gave similar wraps to Brave Smash despite that bloke looking very light when he arrived.

Brave Smash was much younger, more lightly raced and arguably better form. The only real thing in common is they are both from Japan.

It's okay to be light if you're finding wet tracks.

He's obviously going well on the track but I would have thought he'd make a good Epsom horse.

Ben Dorries

Japanese import Danon Liberty will not make his Australian debut until next month’s Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield with connections hoping he will zoom into contention for a slot in The Everest.

Danon Liberty missed a run in last Saturday’s Stradbroke Handicap when he was first emergency and had been entered for the Listed Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich this Saturday.

But trainer Darren Weir has instead elected to keep the galloper on hold until next month’s 1200m Bletchingly Stakes, in which several hopefuls for The Everest will mount cases to be included in the $13million race.

Owners Australian Bloodstock already have last year's The Everest's third-placegetter Brave Smash locked in for another shot at the country's richest race and are hoping to secure another slot for Danon Liberty.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The hype is enormous. Huge pressure now on the horse and trainer to deliver over distances he's unfamiliar with.

Change of mind again it seems... can’t keep up.
Too many backwards and forwards emails.
So confused.
Normally been pretty happy with the communication, but at the moment it’s a shamozzle

Presumably one of the "well-in" among the scores of part-owners.

If he was a hot chance at Doomben then he'd be a near certainty in the Eye Liner. I have my doubts about both but there's only a couple to beat. Need the right jockey for Ipswich.  Moss N Dale looks tough to beat early doors.

They do realise it is Ipswich ?

He'd be better off carrying 65 kgs in BM95 handicap at Rosehill than running around that goat track.

Agree.  If only to provide an outlet for that built-up testosterone in the stallion before spelling him for the Memsie.  Thumbs Up

They have him wound up now. They would prefer to run him sooner rather than later. Should get a decent surface this week too.
