188cm (6 ft 2in) at 17. Better get some growth spurt happening. Le Bron was 4 to 5 inches taller at the same age. Too much pressure as well i would have thought

LeBron James Wants to Stay in the NBA Long Enough to Play Against His SonIt could actually be doable. LeBron James is one of the most accomplished basketball players the NBA has ever seen. And while he may be coming off a disappointing NBA Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors — and a next-level troll by Warriors player Draymond Green at the Warriors' victory parade — the basketball legend still has an achievement he wants to reach, even if he's almost 40 when he does it. In an appearance on Uninterrupted, James opened up about what would be the greatest accomplishment of his career. "If I'm on the same court as my son in the NBA," he said. "That would be number one in my lifetime as an NBA player." more... |

Jordan’s support act was headed by a bloke considered to be one of the best players to play his position in the history of the NBA. James’ is headed by Kevin Love. Hopefully with Irving and Hayward returning for the Celtics they can provide a challenge from the East. Getting a bit boring. |

Did you see him pass to himself when he threw the ball hard into the backboard - ran in - caught it & dunked. Sort of says it all really !

That's it! Change teams if you think you're the only teammate worth playing with. Maybe the "fashion icon" would do better if he bought some big boy pants?

Swept 4-0.
Where's he off to? He clearly won't be returning to Cleveland. I hope he somehow can get to Houston. Philly a chance too. |

To add to what I wrote above, he also made his team find a way,
Thats how he won 6 titles. It simply didnt matter who or what was put to him as a task, Jordan would find a way. Trust me, he would have made a mess of Le Bron. Le Bron is elite. A champion Jordan is out of the stratosphere. Another echelon.

Heres the thing, Jordan "found a way".
You put Le Bron there, Jordan would find a way. Thats what Jordan did. It wouldnt matter who, Jordan would find a way. He is the greatest sportsperson in history.

The Jordan Rules worked fine until Chicago improved the team to help out Jordan.

Correct Entire teams couldnt stop Jordan They even invented, "Jordan Rules", to try smash him up as a team, but still couldnt stop him. Jordan would have danced around Le Bron like he wasnt there It didnt matter who was near Jordan, he would have made a mess of them. People have short memories. Jordan was also a buzzer beater, hit the clinch shots all of the time. Jordan was on a whole other level.

Not surprised. They only have a gazillion off shore operators to lay the bets off on.

Would not surprise me. The corporates flog the hell out of it. Promos left right and centre. A gold mine. |

As a side - heard the other day that more money in Australia is bet on NBA than ANY other sport. Morning time zone probably helps - got the market pretty much to themselves at that time

Saw a headline today “LeBron’s teammates conspire to defeat LeBron James” in game 1 of the finals. Pretty much how it went down. Not only is the rest of his team hopelessly outgunned, they’re inventing ways to lose games when they have a chance.
51 points today. His performance carrying these spuds in this post season has been other-worldly. Best I’ve seen. |

So what? Shortness favours those that want to be jockeys or F1 drivers. Why should midgets be playing more basketball? Good goosers?

The average NBA player is taller than the average Olympic high jumper.

Ok, so required not the right word- hugely favours height, far more than any other sport- how about that? |

requires height above all else for someone to be any good at the top level.Read your own words before changing the goalposts to "statistical outliers". Poke that tongue at yourself argumental failure.

Define major. In parts of Europe it’s very big. Again, name me a team ball sport with a bigger international profile other than soccer. For the life of me I can’t think of one.

My point exactly, he may be a great within basketball but as a sport that has limited interest outside of the USA and requires height above all else for someone to be any good at the top level. Your point is a falsehood. Isaiah Thomas was 1.75, John Stockton 1.85 Ty Lawson 1.80 etc etc |

What other ball sports have a bigger international presence than basketball? There are players from 42 countries in the NBA. Or are we just going to limit the list to soccer players?

Basketball doesn't grab me. It's got the opposite problem to soccer- too much scoring. And it's a stupid game generally because one physical element- height- is so important. Average height in NBA is 6'7".

Agree Tiger. He played against superior opposition too. Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning etc etc etc
