The race could not have been set up better for him.

Thank you. Visually great win.
The fact it took every bit of 1600 to beat fundamentalist answers the best 3yo theory.
Don’t worry about racing Winx. She wouldn’t get out of 3rd gear.
I have him 3rd best 3yo

Visually impressive win but yes, it was a narrow win over Fundamentalist, who Amphitrite beat easily, who in turn was beaten easily by Mystic Journey.   If they're smart they'll go Rosehill Guineas/Derby with TAS

Fundamentalist was beaten by Nakeeta Jane who was beaten by Fundamentalist.

Agree totally with Mr Grieves. Not knocking TAS. He is top 3yo and looks better suited to 2000m plus but he would not get close to Winx.

Pretty clear from last 8 days that there is very little between fundamentalist and nakeeta Jane.

At 2000m it would be the greatest test of her career.

It is what racing needs.

It is what fans want.

It is what Winxs legacy requires.

I don’t want to see Winx beat TAS by 10 lengths.
He isn’t even the best 3yo
Two fillies are well ahead of him.
Yes he won but the $26 shot was 3 lengths behind him when he started his march and finished 3 lengths behind him. Nearly made up identical ground as they went stupid in front.
Nakeeta Jane nearly won backing up on an old path
Fundamentalist couldn’t win in melb so was sent on easier path up there.
He ran home very well and is a good horse but spare me this Winx or even beat 3yo stuff.
Not in the same league

2000m is right in her hitting zone. Go and watch the last 400m of last year's Queen Elizabeth, her sprint is electrifying.

Going from 3 year old to WFA is a big step up. Kementari was doing similar things to better fields this time last year in these races. TAS is a better horse, but he's still only just getting there.

Winx and TAS should meet.
With all the Weir story demoralising racing, the industry needs to showcase good battles.

In saying that though, Winx would be coasting by his side around the turn, and it would be evident very quickly why Winx is the greatest ever.

The colt is good, but if they ran side by side over 2000, she would crush him.

First 1000m in 57.54 so it was set up for something to finish ocer the top. I think the effort of the 2nd horse was almost of equal merit. Did all the chasing mid race.

Winx would beat him by 10 hard held.

You know? What I seen Saturday, has really left me wondering? Who might be better? Winx is still at the top of her game right NOW!! Amazing to think/ see that but I can't see we're she has gone backwards? And this colt just might give her a shake?? Hard call. But I'm sure all the press and radio hosts, will default to the self proclaimed genius in Dominic burn for his analysis that he says is the only way!

I can't make him out. He seems to take forever to hit top gear and has no acceleration at all to speak of. But on the other hand he was able to box seat in the Caulfield Guineas. I will wait until his next start against all ages to make up my mind ... although I have a feeling that he will go Rosehill Guineas and stay in 3yo races.

His next race will definitely be the Rosehill Guineas, there is no open age race for him really? Besides running in the Ranvet on the same day.. which no three year old would ever do.

Is there a few whispers around that he could go to the Ranvet or Ryder? Madison County has come in to $8 for the Rosehill Guineas and TAS is still $1.80 for it.

I'm sure Waller will work out suitable races for TASun without running in to Winx, she hasn't long left to go

No offence but regardless of Winx going to the George Ryder - why would you possibly send TAS there? On yesterdays race are you really thinking you should drop him down in distance after that?

He wouldn't beat Le Romain home in it, let alone Winx. He looks to be every bit a 2000m horse.
